CV on websites

    Hi,

I'm wondering about putting my CV up on websites like bestjobs.ie and monster.ie. Has anyone here gotten a job or even been interviewed by an employer who found their CV on a website like that? Is it pointless? Should I just apply for jobs as they are advertised? I'm working in an organisation that I want to leave.

    Thanks,
    dame

I put mine yesterday at irishjobs.ie
but i am not expecting any miracles

You can put if you want i havent noticed any negative side to that it makes easier to apply as its just a click away then once ur CV is already on the website

i put my CV up on most of those job website's and heard nothing back from any employer.

You're better off just trying to find possible employers rather than hoping they will find you. Look through the listings and e-mail any relevent jobs. You'll probably get an interview which is a start

Upload your CV but apply to the jobs on the website. A lot of employers seek out staff from agencies or put up the add themselves, they're usually too busy to browse through all the CVs.

    Thanks guys,

I'll keep applying for jobs as I see them advertised so.

I uploaded my cv everywhere, I received few phone calls and mails asking me to fill some other questionnaires too but since then nothing and I'm trying to get a job for months. Are irish agencies a mess? Or just a few unlucky people in here on forums...
Do the companies trust recruitment agencies?

Only leave it up for 48 hours max. You can always put it back up at another stage, it looks bad if its on too long. You will get flooded with calls though so maybe set it to email only or whatever is easier for you.

Yep, I got a job from a recruitment company who saw my CV on monster. I got a couple of direct interviews from it too.

IT Admin job. Not entry-level, around the 3/4 years experience mark.
