    SUNDAY MAY 27
    11am: Service to celebrate Gay Pride.
    Unitarian Church. Princes Street.
    This is the Third Annual Pride Service in The Unitarian Church in Cork.
    The service is open to those of any religion or of none. It will consist of readings, reflections, and music to celebrate the opening of Pride and it will also be an opportunity to remember friends who have passed on and present friends who are ill. The LINC Choir will perform.
    The Unitarian Church is the old church almost next to The English Market and almost opposite Ann Summers!

    12.30pm Hike with the Cork Gay Hill Walkers
    Start off the week with a healthy hike in the fresh air before plunging into the fleshpots. This is a low-level walk around the shores of Lough Guitane and along the floor of the beautiful and rugged Cappagh Glen. This route is located 10 miles from Killarney ( on Cork side ). The hike is hosted by Cork Gay Hill Walkers and is open to all in the Gay Community.
    Total distance is 7Km and there is only 50m of ascent. A car pool will operate.
    Departure point will be the Kino Cinema in Washington St.

Those who were there will be back in their droves while those who weren’t around would be mad to miss the fantastic vibe, the camp tunes and “The Broz’s” spontaneous outbursts of mellifluous melodies!!!

    This display has been gathered together from all the Cork City Library and its branches to demonstrate the wide diversity of gay and lesbian authors which are available in our Library Service. The display will feature authors such as Kate O’Brien, Colm Tobin, Peter Ackroyd, & Alice Walker. There will now be a leaflet, “ A guide to Cork City Library’s LGTB Books permanently available.

    7pm: "The Stanley Parkers" - A Rainbow Theatre Production
    The Other Place. 8 South Main Street.

    This One_Act play tells the story of Stanley and Dimitri, who have lived together and loved one another for seventeen years. They speak directly to the audience, sharing their story with insight, humour and very obvious affection. Our overriding impression is of the tenderness and warmth of a happy, unselfish relationship. The play is of 30 minutes duration. Admission free.

    8.15pm: Official Launch of Gay Film Club
    The Other Place. 8 South Main Street.
    We are taking the opportunity of Cork Pride ’07 to open our new mini-cinema .
    We plan to show the best of Gay Films which have won awards at Gay Film Festivals around the world. Tonight’s showing is open to all.
    Details of the film will be available at The Information Centre at Grub Café, 8 South Main St.

    TUESDAY MAY 29

    Cork City Council has again given their backing to Cork’s Pride Week.
    We are honoured that the Lord Mayor, Clr. Michael Ahern has agreed to officially launch Cork Pride’07.
    Food will be served.

    9pm: "Pinke Rinnce" Ceili
    The Other Place, 8 South Main Street
    Take a break from struttin’ your stuff in the clubs and join us for an evening of “Ragairne & Ruaille Buaille ( Fun & Games ) at Cork’s first Gay Ceili. Most of you have been at a Ceili at some time in your lives and know what ‘craic’ can be had. We have musicians and a ‘Fear-a-Ti’ from Cuilea. And if you are worried about your steps we have a couple of dance teachers along to show to get your ‘chos cle’ and ‘chos dheis’ in order!!

    Lecture on history of Irish Gay & Lesbian Literature By Dr. Eibhear Walsh (U.C.C)

    Dr. Eibhear Walsh of the Department of English, University College Cork, will present a general introduction to to the writings of Irish lesbian and gay authors like Oscar Wilde, Kate O’Brien and Micheal MacLiammoir. In his talk he will discuss the wide range of contemporary writers like poet Cathal O’Searcaigh, novelists, Colm Tobin, Emma Donoghue, Keith Ridgeway and Jamie O’Neill. The talk is a general introduction for those interested in hearing about gay writers.
    The lecture will be of one hour’s duration. Admission Free

    10pm: The Velvet Mirror Interactive Drama

    The Velvet Mirror is an experiment in performance craft. Through a mixture of live performance, video and music the performer’s quest for attention and connection with their audience is explored within the setting of a night club.

    Tonie Walsh works on a voluntary basis for the Irish Gay Archive. His lecture and slide show documents Irish Lesbian & Gay history. It is also an introduction to The Irish Gay Archive which will shortly be presented to The National Library. The lecture is of one hour’s duration and will be followed by a short question and answer session. Admission Free
