got a new pc 3wks ago, burned all my songs from cds etc etc
the last 15 seconds or so of every song i play from my library on
wmp(11) skips for the remainder of the song.
When i play a cd on it, its fine
i downloaded i tunes and again theres no problem.
would uninstalling/reinstalling wmp work for me?
Never had this kinda problems before with xp not that vista
is the problem. Any help would be most appreciated.

    Thanks

That is a rather specific and unusual problem.

The only suggestions I can make are to update the sound drivers and install a different MP3 decoder just in case.

For the decoder try ffdshow tryout, for the sound driver what kind does it say it is in the device manager ?

    ah the ffdshow king!

If it works in Itunes its not a codec problem, sounds more like a wmp bug imo

if you run windows vista updates to ensure you have the latest version of media player?

I have a smiliar problem. Running Vista Ultimate, the last few seconds of the song is jumpy, almost like a scratched cd. If I play the tracks 1 at a time I don't have the problem but it's when I'm listing to it in a playlist that the problem occurs. It's like it's loading up the next track but forgetting about the current one playing, so that gets all messed up, if ya get what I'm saying. I listen to music through media player.

Try these SigmaTel audio drivers from Intel.
