Can anyone recommend a good mp3 editor? It does not have to a free one.

The main purpose will be to edit interviews so as to extract say 5 to 10 minutes worth to put on a website for listening or downloading.

Ideally I would also like to be able to reduce the encoding rate during the process.

    Audacity

Download the lame codec and you can export at whatever settings you want :)

Thanks for that but will Audacity handle existing MP3's?
