jokers in the pack

When I first joined this poker forum I was a bit put out by some of the scepticism the regulars here had towards me.

Now after being on this forum for almost a year and witnessing some dodgy claims I can see why some of the old hats are sceptical of peoples claims and don't really blame them for doubting mine or other newbies.

I think it's apparent to all the regulars here though that although most of the newbies are interested in poker and getting involved in the forum, there's a more and more jokers in the pack turning up here who are either brain dead or taking the complete p1ss.

Sometimes they are mildy amusing but most of the time they are just taking up valuable space. I'm kind of surprised there hasn't been more bannings tbh. It's almost as if they are pushing at the boundaries of getting banned but back away from the line when the mods threaten it.

Can't wait for the high content section now, maybe there should be a low content section as well, for people who just want to talk gossip to do with the poker world or chat with their poker mates.

doesn't look like it. There's hasn't been any movement on the thread about it in the "forums" forum in weeks.

Do we need to put an official request through a higher authority? I don't think we can just expect it to be given to us.

I'm sick of all the ****e here lately as well. The fact that some idiot wants to have gossiping threads in the Tourney section shows how low things have gone. I've never been a newbie basher, but anybody who wants to come on here just to take the piss should be tracked down and given a good kicking. (I'm actually kinda serious there!)

I'm sure DeV will come back to us about any potential forum split in the future. The mods don't have any control over it apart from shouting loudly.

A big forum like this is never going to run perfectly smoothly so trying to find the balance between welcoming n00bs, keeping content high, allowing a little banter, and generally being elitist pr1cks, can be tricky sometimes.

Also, the mods have taken note of people's views about new posters and the gossiping stuff.

IMHO a high content section will allow this to happen, welcome the noobs and low content and the banter in the poker forum, and all the rest where it belongs

Mods where do I make a request for new emoticons? I want to make it so that when I type :spade: I get a little spade icon, same for all other suits.

Also if I make the request do I have a hope in hell of it going through?

Here maybe, but I doubt it would be high on the list for development, the poker forum is only 1 out of over 900 forums!

But its one of the fastest growing, 5 largest, I think its fair that we could ask for that small addittion. It could save the likes of hand convertors from linking images everytime,

52 would be nive, but we'd settle for 4,

and didn't afterhours get a youtube tag a while ago?

i'm guessing here, but the poker forum is prob the highest $ earner, as such any matter, however large or small, should be given higher priority than say the mustard forum, for example.

I certainly can't move a thread from Helpdesk, no more than you can.

It's okay I'm fairly sure HJ is planning a night of the long knives, and pretty soon all the noob posters with really bad usernames will be "dealt" with.
