A weird thing happens to me when I yawn; a stream of water shoots out of my mouth.

I looked it up on the net and nothing came up.

Has anyone else had this happen to them??

Thats weird. I never heard of that before

You can harness that and do it at will like me and then you'll be really cool..

It's your saliva gland afaik, you stop that happening by making sure your tongue is flat on the bottom of your mouth. Anyway, you should always put a hand over your mouth while you yawn!

Yep saliva gland as Gordon says ... can be cool but the range is crap.

Ahh hehe, that happens to me too on occasion.

Yeah, happens to me too. I put it down to syliva, sometimes you can't swallow syliva when you break into a yawn so it dribbles out. Does that make sense? You've started me yawning now.

Do you mean you dribble? Cos that happens me sometimes when I yawn

I wouldn't say that "saliva shoots out of my mouth". Sounds like that's your super-power or somethin!

As far as I know its called gleeking. (google it) you can train yourself to call upon this this 'skill' to squirt people. :D

You're simply pushing saliva out of your month.
When you yawn, you are pushing (excess) saliva out of your mouth via muscles which aren't used very often.

Ha! Deadly. Didn't know it was a documented thing. My dad used to always be able to do it when I was young. Then one day I figured out how to do it myself. I was well proud. Couldn't really explain how to do it, but it's easy when you know how.

    Man I can't believe there's a wikipedia article on gleeking, that's hilarious!
I've only heard that term once before, I gleeked on an old girlfriend of mine by accident, and she says,
    "Stop that!!"
    "what?"
    "Gleeking on me!!!"
Now I can do it at will, and sometimes project it maybe 5 feet or so. You get the best jets when you've taken a sup of beer or something that really stimulates the saliva gland.

Does this mean that lads will soon have (yawning) contests too? I can shoot farther than you, see!

There was a couple of fellas that used to do it into people's faces in school at one stage. Somehow the fact that they were doing it by some 'secret' method made it acceptable....

If they squirted a bit of saliva at you, and you gobbed a big phlegmy one straight back in their eye, they'd be like: 'oh, you manky f*cker, that's disgusting, you spat for real!'.

Yeah, a friend of mine could do it, pretty far too. He used to do it and hit pepple walking by in school and they did not know wtf was going on.
