I took advantage of it too - lots of availability on Dublin - London Stanstead for 2c return.

No taxes or charges (including credit card booking charges) - which is amazing. I even checked with my credit card company about any transactions that went through for Ryanair, and they confirmed that they were only for 2c (the cost of the flights only).

Ryanair must be losing a lot of money with this, even if they are filling seats.

Make sure they're all applicable routes, and that the flights are from Monday to Thursday only (no Friday or weekend flights are included).

    Also, there's a blackout period - July 16th to August 31st.

At first I couldn't find any return free flights either - but I tried booking each leg separately and then it worked.

The only Irish flights which I can see to be available for 1c each way (including taxes and charges) are:
    Dublin to:
    • Bournemouth
    • Bremen
    • Bristol
    • Cork
    • Doncaster Sheffield
    • Durham Tees Valley
    • East Midlands
    • Glasgow (Prestwick)
    • Leeds Bradford
    • Liverpool
    • London (Luton)
    • London (Stansted)
    • Manchester
    • Newcastle

    Shannon to:
    • Bournemouth
    • Edinburgh
    • Glasgow (Prestwick)
    • Liverpool

I know there's definetly availability on Dublin to London Stanstead during September and October, and there are still some Shannon - Edinburgh seats left too (although not that many for September).

Same here i went to book two flights within the travel dates allowed, flights came up at 4c total but cant continue unless I select online checkin/priority booky @€;6.00 each, hand luggage would be sufficient for the trip. When I continued to book there was a credit charge of €12 (€3 per person per flight) All in all it was €24.04, I know its still cheap but its not what I expected to pay.

Did anyone book flight for 2c per person all in?

I read elsewhere that if you select Web Fare, the taxes will show up but not if you select Regular Fare (might be just for 1p UK flights as it was UK deals website I saw this on)

I have the flights for 1p each way, there is no regular fare available to be selected, just web fare - and when I proceed am being charged the taxes - total price £33.47

I can't understand why the handling fee of €3 each way per passenger on a credit card isn't being charged when it says it's the #new# handling fee.

I hope they don't ask for it in retrospect at the airport!!!

Even so, €6.02 return to London ain't bad if they do decide to charge it.

3 flights booked from Shannon to Edinborugh for 6c return. Thanks a million OP.

Last year I booked return flights to Rome for 3 for about E10 (credit card charges). This deal is even better!!

Apparently Laser wouldn't cut them a commission deal, so they don't take them anymore.
Used Visa, came up as €12, plus 4cent for the flights for two, but in the final summary it shows as €0.04.

    Good deal either way!

    Thanks

    Hi,

someone earlier said that all their flights cost only a few cents all in, despite the fact that the credit card fee came up earlier in the transaction.

Is that everyone's experience, that the credit card fees were not applied?

    Thanks.

    Smokey

Checking availability from the homepage is a pain. You have to keep entering the from/to locations/dates etc.

However from the following link it remembers your last entry which is much easier:

hmmmm, trying to find 1-way flights to Paris (Beauvais).......

    The ad says:
    "Paris (Beauvais)
    from €22.81"

But when I search for it on 2nd July, the cheapest I can get is €40 :S (before walking charges, etc)

    Am I doin something wrong?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,810 ✭✭✭lodgepole

Dublin to Bremen in September, it's adding the tax although the flights are 1c each.

Check out Absolut's thread. Paris is not one of the routes you can get the cheap fare on I'm afraid..

Beauvais is a pretty busy airport, especially in June & July, a lot of flights already prebooked and i'm sure they won't let the rest of the seats go for 1c. I booked a flight Beauvais to Dub for the 4th of July about 2 months back for €50 for the both of us, costs €155 now.

However if you look at the 10th & 11th, they are both available for 1c! Also a slot for late flight 4th july from Dub for 1c. That's about it!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 27,857 ✭✭✭✭Dave!

Cheers for that! Might be able to put it off til 4th July, dunno...... Thanks again

Maybe this is a stupid question, but do ya have to pay for your bags?

I can fina a few good 1c flight deals, but then ya have to pay 12euro for each bag, is that right?

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 60,110 Mod ✭✭✭✭Tar.Aldarion

You can pick to have no bags and it is free, yes you have to pay for bags.

I'll stay with family abroad and take a backpack on with me.
Baggage is not too expensive anyway, if you want some.

    Ah I see.

I was going to book a few flights in October, for my birthday, and at 1c a pop, if someone couldn't make it, it wouldn't have mattered, but we would all need to take bags with us, so the loss would be that bit greater if someone didn't go.

  • Moderators, Science, Health & Environment Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators Posts: 60,110 Mod ✭✭✭✭Tar.Aldarion

Yeah, but only 12e per person, I would still do it, such a price. :)

  • you can carry on a 10kg bag...

Also, just wear as much clothes as possible getting onto the flight!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,494 ✭✭✭ronbyrne2005

Pumping CO2 into the atmosphere doesnt cost a few cent per flight. When will we think of and charge for externalities.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,908 ✭✭✭Alkers

When you click on the "about the new credit card handling charge" link you're told there is a €3 charge per person in a booking... Not sure if this applies or not as it wasn't included in the displayed price.
