I think my iRiver is dying

So all this week i've noticed that my iRiver H10 (5gb) seems to be struggling with life... It doesn't play all the songs on it for some reason...

Also, it has taken to freezing, with the music (or radio) playing away but none of the buttons working...

Also, sometimes when i turn it off and turn it back on, it will be back wherever i was before i turned it on the first time (e.g. if i had been listening to albumA yesterday, turn it on today to listen to albumB, turn it off and turn it back on and it will be back at albumA, with all the settings the way they were)

Also, the odd time the sound goes funny, like its turned way down, but its not...

Sound's bad methinks... TBH i've been looking for an excuse to buy a new mp3 player, so what would ye advise? Also, does it sound like its on its last legs? I've had it for nearly 3 years, and i use it nearly every day...

    Have a look on http://www.misticriver.net/forums.php
and search for any similar problems and see if anyone
has a solution. Might be worth a shot posting your
    question there.

I've a H140 for 3 years myself and whilst still working it's full
and battery life has dropped to about 6 hours. I picked up
    a Creative Zen Vision M - available in both 30Gb and 60Gb
flavours. Great player - excellent sound and video (great for
playing AVI files on your TV) search this forum on Boards for
    feedback.

Make a backup of all your music, format the drive, put the music back on and see what happens. failing that, buy a new player. if your HD is gone there's not much financial sense in springing for a new one especially given the current worth of the player.

The fact it's acting up on both mp3s and radio playback makes me think
you've a bigger problem than just the HDD.
