Does anyone know a tech that would put the guitar parts together, or is it a case of get in line for Derrick Nelson?

all you need is a screwdriver set,an allen key set,a soldering iron!
honestly assenble it yourself and then get it a pro setup if you like

Pretty sure this wouldn't be the quality level I'd use as my starting point for joining a neck or a fretboard.:o This would be a sweet one if I could find someone to put it all together.

If you're getting all Warmoth pieces, you just need a screwdriver. Seriously, it's like expensive Mechano.

Thanks for the reassurance guys, it's just the initial worry of having to put on the fretboard followed by the fretwire and fret markers. The rest I suppose I can blunder my way through. Better see if I have any meccano lying about in the attic in the meantime.;)

Why not just get a neck that's all finished and ready to go?

This way should have been a little easier to choose the right materials for the fretboard and neck, leaving the headstock free for a custom decal if I can come up with one that's not too cheesy. Looks like I'll go ahead with this if they can at least combine the neck materials, which it seems to indicate they will on their website. Then it's up to me not to screw up the rest.:p

You can order the neck completed and fretted but without a finish so you can still apply whatever decal you want. Tbh I think you'd be mad to just get the neck parts. Get them to put it all together, seriously, for the sake of a poxy decal you'll never see when you're playing, just get the heartbreaking work done before you recieve anything.

Cheers doc, may as well settle for the hassle free option. Found one of my friends has enough time to talk me through any parts that are new to me, or give reassurance if for any reason some parts don't sit right.

Found my old meccano set in the attic, and there was a reason it got left up there.:p

I made a guitar recently from parts, there was more than enough work in getting all together properly without worrying about painting or fretting. Making sure everything is in exactly the right place before you commit to drilling and routing is enough stress, as far as I'm concerned. You'll need to do a fret level on a Warmoth neck anyway, so let that be as hard as it gets ;)

The body I picked has been routed for pickups already, fingers crossed I may get away with just lining up the neck correctly and a fret level.
