posted this earlier but not sure what happened to it. All comments welcome, from colour of font to overall layout and ease to use and navigate.

I like the layout and navigation - the blurrey effect before launching the full screen picture works well too. Nicely done.

yep, its well polished. I'm not a huge fan of the text that pops up when you mouse over a link in the list tho, especially if it just repeats what already written.

Overall its a nice design and works well. I like it.

Great site. few bits of minor feedback...
    - as I run my browser with flashblock, and others might too so it may be worth putting some "branding" outside the flash)
    - To me the blurring on mouse over seems a bit counter intuitive... It would sort of make more sense if they were all blurry at the beginning and hovering over one sharpens it, but that obviously shows a bunch of blurry photos when you first enter....

I realise you want to provide feedback that "you" are over a specific image, but what about a slight zoom in, or using something camera related - an old fashioned SLR focus ring? - that could easily be a bit twee tho'....

    mmmm (v. minor points)

Big no-no, theres no visual indication that the page is still loading when the first couple of thumbnails are up. You can click on them to your hearts content, and get no response, leading you to conclude that the page is broken and hit the back button :-) No idea WHAT is actually taking so long to load, it couldn't be the thumbnails because they're tiny, unless the flash itself is taking ages ? or the background image ?

I hate all-flash websites as a rule anyway. For example, there's no way I can open all those portfolio pages in their own tabs and browse one while the others are loading. No way to bookmark anything other than the front page, your information and contact links aren't working and I have no idea why etc etc. The same thing could be accomplished as easily with DHTML for the menu and surrounds, and maybe a spot of flash for the galleries themselves, with fallback html-only ones for people who don't (or won't) have the latest version of flash installed on their system.

I agree with bigeoino regarding the blurring on mouse over. I also thought about doing it the other way around but, as already mentioned, you would then have a screen of blurred shots.
The descriptive text for the music section is nice, but I don't think it works that well in the abstract section where it says the same thing in both places.
Having said that, it is nicely laid out and easy to navigate. And there are some great shots up there too!
(Oh, and one last thing - should Penfold M be Penfold DM?)

Thanks to all for your feedback. Please continue to do so. The more I get the better I can improve it, however Im not having it re-written!!! Far too painful

I'm not a fan of all-Flash sites myself but for a photography site, well that's what Flash was made for. Likewise, it's a good tool for music/band sites and other rich media projects, etc.
No idea WHAT is actually taking so long to load

    It's absolutely flying for me?

I also agree with bigeoino comments - the blur effect does confuse the message slightly.

Nicely done overall - I feel the large bg image may be slightly over the top - at least in the section pages.

A feature I'd suggest is a next + back capability on the image display pages. Would save a step having to close and go back to the section and select another image to view.

    nice work tho.

I haven't read previous posts so it is my opinion.
    Nice, but...
too slow, menus don't close after repeated click, my mouse won't scroll that page.
If you could improve it, it would be the best photography page I have ever seen. (I am not talking about photographs.)
