So, it looks like this card has become available over here now

On komplett its just under 400€:

    http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=335740

On overclockers, its just under 280£, which works out to be 407€

    http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-074-HT

Overclockers say thay have 10+ in stock at present, but komplett will have none untill the 22nd of this month.

The first one of you to get one, post some real benchmarks, as i just dont believe all these conflicting reports from the various websites.

    Not me anyway :D

The official Catalyst 7.5 is allegedly going to stabilize performance in some key titles particularly when AA is used but there is a rumour that was mentioned in the Anandtech article & elsewhere that the hardware based AA is broken in the 2900 which is why performance tanks when you enable AA.

They are using a mixed shader AA mode which relies heavily of the driver being tweaked for insert x game if that is true that's a big problem & would mean waiting for R650 for a fix, I really hope it isn't true.

If someone does fancy getting one I'd wait for HIS to make one using their own ICE cooler instead of the stock variety.

I'd have to agree. For me the last great ATI card was the 9800pro. Since then the x800/850 and x18/1900 cards were only mediocre compared to what nvidia launched. Yes, i suppose ATI did hold the image quality crown, but it seems nvidia have firmly pulled that one back. Maybe the 2900XTX X2 might be worth a shot. But untill them you really cant fault the value of a 8800gts/gtx card.

Initially tempted but....between the patchy coverage so far and the fan issue I think I'm going to place it safe and go for a 8800gts. I saw one one a German website for 250 euro....can't beat that really.

Hope the delivery charge isnt to much, then its a fecking great deal really. oc.uk were doing their own branded 8800gts for 140£ but it seems to be gone now.

Yeah, here's the two here. I like the look of the Asus Ghost Recon sticker...maybe I'm just being a weirdo but I have a thing about not liking Club3d...

edit: Seems to be 24 delivery....so about 290 overall, not bad. 284 euro to be exact.
