    Final table of the jackpot 'monday madness' tournament, which incidentally makes the 20fo on thursday seem like the big game. Only top 3 get any decent sort of payout
    Villain is utg+2 and has more chips than god and has been playing pretty aggressively. Blinds are 400-800, table is 8 handed. Hero has 9000.

    folded to villain who makes it 3000, folded to me in sb with aj. Action?

    I think its a pretty easy shove but feedback is always welcome

    Fold. What do you think he has? Is your hand much better and worth going bust with? Unless you think he's got A rag, it's not worth risking going bust here.

    Depending on the player in question, with just over 10BBs I'd be shoving this.

    villian playing agg + only good money in top 3= ram it woop woop.

    you need the chips and you might not find a beter hand in the next orbit.

    u prob dont have much fold eq ere since he has enuf chips to take a shot so when u push here u have to figure out if u want a call.

    You are in the SB, so you have an orbit to pick a spot of pushing with any 2 against any of the other players. Getting in to the pot first is very important at this stage of a tourney. Fold.

    If he's pretty aggressive and has a boatload of chips, his range will probably be wider than a typical EP raiser. I would be comfortable saying that it could be as wide as 55+ A8+ KQ // KJ (It's the Jackpot Monday game after all). He will probably call with nearly all of it, so I don't think you have much FE - but I think AJ performs well enough for you to ram it in.

    We have 11 BBs, want a top three finish - I think a shove is pretty obv here.
    This was pretty much the line i took with it. I was almost certain he was calling and thought i was in alright shape against his range which could even have been extended to K10 and QJ from what i'd seen. Also stealing pf would not have been easy in this game as there were several gamblords who would see any pf all-in as being '50-50' giving me little FE.

    i fold. in that game being first into the pot is so much. if you raise to 8k no-one will care but if you go ALL IN for 6k everyone sh1ts themself... its weird. fold. and then whenever its folded to you, or limped to you ship it in. no-one is calling 8-10bb raises without much.

    I'd push, and me thinks you did too... What happened?

    We don't mind if he calls here - that's the point. We double up often enough against his range of hands for us not to care what happens after we shove. And we need a double up btw.

    we're barely a coin flip again the wide range you assigned him:
    equity win tie pots won pots tied
    Hand 0: 	50.041%  	45.67% 	04.37% 	     118095603 	 11289404.00   { 55+, A8s+, KJs+, A8o+, KJo+ }
    Hand 1: 	49.959%  	45.59% 	04.37% 	     117883493 	 11289404.00   { AcJd }

    against a standard sort of ep range we're not in great shape, I think it's a fold.

    standard shove

    Well we have already stated that we don't think it is a standard EP range. OP has even added that hands such as K10 / QJ could be thrown in to the mix. There is some money in the pot already. I would take an essential flip when I have 11 BBs and a number of places from my goal. So I shove.
    Fair enough!

    This is what i would have thought as well but earlier on id shoved aj from button after utg limped for around 10bbs. He called. I asked if he had aq and he says no and turns over k6s. This was after the rebuy period aswell.
    Anyway in the hand in question the ep raiser called with ak and i was gone in 8th for 20e, a huge profit of a fiver for my nights work

    if your below avg stack and waiting around for a chance to shove/double up i think now is your chance

    I don't think this is an easy shove at all. He has raised almost 5BBs, pot committing himself to call a shove from stacks behind him. Hoping to get called by a weaker Ace-X is really optimistic here. Pretty standard fold IMO.

    Yeah i think thats me alright. The jackpot has treated me well though i've fallen victim to some of the madness you get playing cash in there

    He'd been raising very frequently and i'd seen him showdown some pretty weak hands. His stack was absolutely huge, i'd say over half the chips in play and 5bbs was his standard opening raise. It was marginal but i felt i was ahead often enough to shove

    Ok. This is essential info that should have been in the OP and changes everything.

    :)
