Green Joke Poker Bluffton 0.10/0.20, hand converted by the iPoker Converter at Talking-Poker

    saw flop|saw showdown

    5 (Button) uda4a ($18.50)
    6 sexylegs69 ($34.90)
    8 ShaveMeShamrock ($18.70)
    10 josha1000 ($30.50)
    1 Dali25 ($15)

Preflop: ShaveMeShamrock is in seat 8 with Jspade.gif Jheart.gif
    josha1000 calls 0.20, 1 fold, uda4a calls 0.20, 1 fold, ShaveMeShamrock raises to 1.20, josha1000 calls 1.20, 1 fold.

    Flop (3.10) 6spade.gif 4heart.gif 7heart.gif
    ShaveMeShamrock bets 2, josha1000 calls 2.

    Turn (7.10) 8club.gif
    ShaveMeShamrock bets 5, josha1000 raises to 10??

Okay villain is 80/0/1.1 over 40 hands hes passive enough basically a calling station, he sees the turn 70% and see the river 80% of the time hes seen a flop. Okay so ive great stats on him but its obvious hes a bad player, should i listen to the stats which say hes passive and fold here on the turn or is he likely to treat top pair or 88-TT here as the nuts or is this just a horrible board considering his range and i should fold and find a better place. What do you do against these types of players.

    Fold to a min-raise?

I'd pop it to 25-30 or flat call and let him load-the-gun-and-shoot-himself-in-the-head.

You've got him beaten at least, out of the air, 70% of the time here. I know with QQ-AA I'm re-raising pre-flop. If you think he could have a set, flat call and see what he does on the river.

    A7 maybe?

betting the turn here is really awful.

Yep, betting the turn isn't a good idea here.

I think he has you beat. He seems like a pretty bad player (80/0/1.1) and I think his min raise means a 5.

Hate folding this but I doubt very much that your ahead.

@insafehands, he can't raise to 25-30, his stack was $18 before the start of the hand.

I know but ive only $18 here, ive already $8 invested and if i call theres only $5 left behind for me, here its either all in or fold but do you think im ahead here 70% of the time because hes a donk and do you give much weight to the fact that hes stats shows hes passive and now hes RR a near pot sized bet, again i know its a RR but with the stacks the way they are its effectively an all in.

betting the turn here is really awful.

But hes stats show hes a calling station seeing 70% of turns and 80% of rivers, i expect him to call here every time and i expect him to call my turn bet alot of the time with marginal hands and draws. He could have a 5 but hes range is so wide should i be ready to go into check call mode here.

Is a player this bad doing this enough with 88-TT and 7x for me to be leading or how would you play it from the turn check/call check/fold?

If you think that you area ahead 70% of the time then go with your read if you think he's that bad. Being able to get a feel for players is what should help you fly up the levels.

    A5 even!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,296 ✭✭✭valor

    fold now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,953 ✭✭✭dvdfan

Yeah, just taught this one was tricky because i felt i was well ahead of his range on the flop, then the turn card was just awful and it was trying to decide between my gut telling me im ahead of so many hands that hed play here but the stats indicated he had hit something as this passive player had suddenly became Agrressive, but i dont know if you can trust stats as much with bad players. Also looking back 88 would also beat me after the turn dropped and hed probably also make that move with 99 so 99,TT & FD are probably the only thing im beating here

    A5 even!

Spot on, although any 2 cards 5 or higher was probably in his calling range here.

money saved is money earned. your never ahead. your $8 is gone, not invested. its obvious your beat so your moneys not invested in anything. kick to the muck

i dont think he even knows about bluffing scare cards.

donkey calls flop, minraises turn when straight hits. and hes extremely passive postflop?

    definite fold

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,754 ✭✭✭ianmc38

check that turn card and fold now.

I think the turn bet is fine because this guy will call you down with any pair and wont raise you with a worse hand very often, if ever

Im guessing you came over the top of the $10 bet. anf he insta called,
from your description here i dont you are ever ahead, and it really is screaming A5.

That was in response to insafehands post who didnt realise i had only $18 and was telling me to RR, i was just pointing out that id $8 invested and $10 left behind so a RR wasnt an option, but like the calling station i am i pushed for the measly few bob left and as insafehands and mellor guess he had A5o.

    Thanks for the responses.

    1.1 aggression isn't that passive.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,894 ✭✭✭✭phantom_lord

    esp when he's 80%vpip

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 583 ✭✭✭insafehands

Didn't see the straight possibility first time actually, so forget what I said.

If he is donkish, A5 is pretty likely here.

    I'd have folded.

Sorry should have added hes preflop aggression and turn agression was 0.5 for each. 1.1 was his total aggression
