Insurance Question

    Hi Guys,

Looking for some advice on insuring a second car. I have a bought a BMW E30 cabriolet and I was wondering are there any companies out there who would insure it as a second car. It’s only going to be used during good weather, possibly 6000 miles per year. I have another car as a daily driver with 6 years NCB.

I know that because it’s 15 years old, it won’t qualify for any classic policy. I was wondering are there any companies that have maybe a limited mileage policy or a “future classics” policy like in the UK.

    Any help would be great.

    Thanks.

I've heard that Carole Nash insure some cars as classic even if they are not 25 years old. The e30 was specifically mentioned actually.

I'd give First Ireland a try too. 01-8820800

O'driscoll O'neil in Dublin do a limited mileage insurance but car has to be > 20 yrs old. Just took out insurance with them on my MR2. Did quite a bit of checking before I bought & it looks like the car has to be more than 20 years old.
