Who here has been to see a medium?

Well, first of all, I am not even sure id the word 'medium' is the word I should be using.
I went to see a 'medium' on Friday, with the hope of contacting an Aunt that passed away last October.

This lady read my cards, but also communicated with relatives of mine who have passed on over the years.

She was a really lovely woman and I spent over two hours with her.

I know there are a lot of cynical people out there, and I can't, and wouldn't want to, force you into believing anything you don't want to believe, but what I will say is that I gained a lot from the experience and left with a lovely sense of calm.

This lady told me things, personal things, that she couldn't have possibly known about me, and my family, prior to my visit.

She was very kind, and very patient, and allowed me to ask a million and one questions, all of which she answered to the best of her ability.

She didn't really tell me too much about my future, although she did tell me a few things about my brother and sister - most of the session was spent passing on messages from my aunt, uncle and grandparents who had passed away.

Has anyone else here ever been to a medium? Can you share your experience with me? I would be very interested to know how other people got on.

Hey Mrs_Doyle, nice of you to pop in.

There's a sticky 4 from the top of the forum about Mediums & Psychics, you might find some good stuff there if you can wade through all the contact detail requests.

Can I ask who it was you went to see?

Oh thanks, was just browsing through the sticky as you replied. I'll pm you her name, maybe you have heard her.
Sounds a bit daft, but she was such a lovely girl I'd feel a bit bad about posting her details on the net, just in case she received some prank calls as a result.

Perfectly understandable. Its great when people see that some of these mediums & readers are genuine nice people.

    Hi there

sounds like you had a good experience. Can I ask did you manage to get contact with the person you were hoping for at all

I've heard it said many times that spirits won't come through just becuase we want them too. I know some would say that's just a charlatan's way of avoiding direct questions but I disagree. It makes a bit of sense to me that perhaps when you request them, they feel the time isn't right etc

Anyway back to original topic. I've never done the whole medium reading but I have been to a tarot reader who is very strong on seeing spirits too. she always says there's 2 with me, one would be my granny who I wasn't particularly close to but who I'm apparently quite like in temprament and the other one was really freaky. It's my uncle who I don't really remember, I was 2 when he died. Anyway, this guy's nickname was not his christian name, yet he told the reader both names. I nearly melted into the chair! funny thing was he told me to behave myself:)

All in all it was a calming experience but definetly one to make me think

I did! My Aunt was very interested in all things Paranormal, so I knew if she could make contact, she would.
My aunt died very suddenly, of a heart attack, and her death was a great shock.
The medium was able to tell me all about the way she died, and also that my Aunt was at my cousins wedding (which took place last weekend) and that she was very glad to see her own children had attended (as she knew it was difficult for them to go) and that they seemed to enjoy themselves.
She gave me messages for my mam, and for her daughter.

I also made contact with my grandad, who died when I was 2yrs old. Again the lady could tell me how he died and told me a lot of very personal things, that sent shivers up my spine.
However, she told me my Grandad was always with me, and that really felt good to hear.

There was a whole lot more that I wont go into here, but I will say it all applied to me, and my family, and was very nice and comforting to hear.

I went to a medium about 10 years ago and he was fantastic. He was extremely accurate in the details he gave me and also gave me names of some of my own friends etc.
Could you pm me the number of the medium you went to as I'd be very interested in going to another one.

Sorry for not replying to peoples pm's. I have been trying to get in touch with the lady to see if she's ok with me passing on her details.
Her daughter is making her communion this weekend, so she has been pretty hard to reach.

As soon as I talk to her I will let you guys know what the verdict is.

I've been to a few mediums. I live near a spiritualist camp, and they have a church there which offers regular services, and many of the town's residents are mediums. I've always had a good, interesting experience there, except for the last time I went. I didn't end up reading with the person I wanted to, and the lady I ended up with couldn't get much from me since I was so closed off to her. Kind of waste, but I mean to go back to the medium I initially wanted.

Florida, unfortunately. But if you're ever over here, the spiritualist town is definitely worth a visit.
