A user has left here recently and a new girl has teken over her job. The new girl needs access to her mails.

On exchange system manager it says there are nearly 19,000 items in her mailbox in 5GB of data.

I want to archive all her mails and add them to the new girls outlook. However there only seems to be about 400MB of data in the old girls outlook, data up to december last yr!

Whats up I wonder as the storage group shes in has been defragged recently.

deleted item retention time perhaps ?

in outlook open the deleted items and on the menu choose recover

right click on the mailbox and folder size should be in advanced

you can also use the exmerge utility to export the mailbox to a pst directly from the server without needing outlook, the really nice features are you can do it to all mailboxes and you can merge pst's and mailboxes by renaming the PST and playing around with the overwrite rule

Cheers. When I selected the deleted items folder they all started downloading into it. The user must have deleted them around christmas.
