The second album from James Murphy et al. I had trouble getting into this one, I absolutely adored the first album and the singles that came out before it where as The Sound of Silver just seemed like he was going through the motions. It's grown on me though, not as much as the debut but definitely still a worthwhile album.

Amazing album. "Someone Great", "North-American Scum" and the title track all excellent - but "Someone Great" is going to be the big one methinks.
Mr. Murphy has all the songs available for listening on his MySpace site afaik.

'Watch the Tapes' is a fantastic track! Think they shall be one of my Electric Picnic highlights this year!

Definite Lecky picky highlight. Would like to add All My Friends to the "whopper-songs-on-this-album" chain. So many different styles, a truly excellent album. Managing perfectly to blend whats Hip(yes, with a capital H) right now while still keeping an original voice....Favourite album so far this year

Just had a couple of listens to it there while out in the car and I was very impressed. Great album and very full on, you certainly know that you've listened to an album by the time it's over and "New York, I Love You But You're Bringing Me Down" finishes the album off quite well.

I can hear influences from Arcade Fire and Modest Mouse as well as a lot of 80's music in particular in the vocal style. "Someone Great" borrows heavily from Orange Juice's "Rip It Up"

All in all and very good album imo and they should be one to watch at EP.
