Its has a WXGA connection. My laptop has a VGA port.

Can I connect these 2 directly or do I need an adapter?

    Thanks

    Hi,

The highest i can change the res is 1440 by 900. Will this be a problem?

    Thanks

thats the highest res for the sceen of the laptop?? most laptops support higher resolution when an external screen is connected.

if not and that is our highest res then it will still work. it just wont fill the screen.

Sorry didn't explain myself very well there.

Haven't actually bought the tv yet- wanted to check it would be compatible first before I coughed up €1700+ for it.

I just check the highest res in the display setting on the actual laptop. I haven't got it hooked up to anything yet.

Will res setting change automatically when connected to the tv?

Thanks for all your help. Its was surprisingly hard to get a straight forward answer to this.

oh yeah i knw you havent got the tv yet! yeah 1440X900 is the highest for the screen of your laptop. it will work no prob with any tv. it would just be best if your laptop can support 1920X1080 res for external monitors. check the specs online of ur laptop and see.
