I saw these two disease-related signs on my way to the shops yesterday. Anyone got any more they've taken themselves? I have a few amusing/bizarre ones from South America if I can dig them up.

In America a couple of years ago I saw a street named "Tangle Berry".

The locals had no idea why I found the street sign hilarious

Actually, maybe I should have posted those the other way around. Death might be Falcon's supplier.

I didn't actually see the sign, but I saw the shop's listing in the Yellow Pages of the United Arab Emirates. To make it worse, it is actually the first listing on the page, so it is also written in big writing up at the corner of the page.

    L*b*a Tailors

(replace the first * with an 'a', and the second * with an 'i')

In case you don't believe me:
    www.yellowpages.ae
Type in the full name above in Search
Have a look at the results

    Labia Tailors???

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 232 ✭✭fluppet

Yeah, but I think it's just a normal tailors... they're listed under 'Women's Tailors' in the Yellow Pages... You get loads of companies with funny names like that over there - I think for a lot of them they must just pick random words out of the dictionary, but in this case they made a pretty bad choice, hehe

There used to be a taxi company in Manor St in Dublin that I'd pass every day on the way in to work, and across the window was a big sign saying:
"No Journey To Near Or Far"

Which made you wonder what was the point like???

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2 tmurphy41

hey look. that was my first post. i feel now like it should have been something more momentous

These are dotted around the area where the farm is.

Allways thoughtof them as stating the obvious

    I don't know if its still there, but back in 2004 some fools living near I.T.Tralee had signs on their windows reading;

"Say no to ESB telephone mast" (some had mobile telephone masts in there too I think)

I think one of them even had it on display in his van window too. The sad part was that they had been running this campaign for at least 2 years at that point and either nobody told them the ESB don't put up mobile telephone masts, or they just didn't believe the people that told them this.
