    My Computer:
    1.25 GB RAM
    Sempron 3000+ (2Ghz)
    7600gs AGP

Yesterday my computer monitor just turned off and when i turned off the computer monitor and turned it on, nothing else happened. The computer light turns on and the fans turn on but thats it, the monitor acts as if it is plugged into a computer that is turned off. The computer doesnt make the usual beeps or noises it does when it loads normally so i dont think its a monitor or gfx card problem.

What ive done so far to test what might be the problem:
    - tried 2 differnt agp cards and onboard gfx card
    - tried a different PSU
    - tried a different monitor
    - tried taking out the cmos battery and leaving it then putting it back in
    - tried removing all HDs, CD drives, agp/pci cards, just leaving RAM and CPU
    - tried it with just RAM
    - tried it with jsut CPU
    - tried different RAM stick in different RAM slots
Exact same results with all the above.
And with all these differnt things there were no POST beeps.
Another thing to note that there are no lights or anything lighting on the keyboard

I dont have a means here of testing the cpu or mobo seperately, but im afraid one or both may be broken.
Anyone have an clues on what may be the problem or what else i can try?

Sounds very similar to problems i had with my comp a few months ago. The mobo was the problem for me. The mobo is probably the cheapest of the 2 to replace.

By the sounds of it you may have a dodgy motherboard or, as I discovered recently, the same symptoms were an idication that the CPU had gone.
I tried PSU and motherboard replacements with no joy before trying a different CPU and then everything worked!
