Impossible to answer without more information because a lot of time players have AK here

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,361 ✭✭✭dougee19

    almost always fold here

Any info on the player? Unless you know he is pushing a huge range of hands I don't think you can call here. Normally your 50/50 a few times behind a LOT.

thats why i folded. would u call with ak.
just lost nearly half my stack. in bb with qq. sb pushes with a3
    a on river

If you think he has a middle PP then there isn't much difference in AK and AQ. Wait for a better spot than this to look to double up.

I'm calling here, you're a favourite more often than it being AK. At worst you're racing, and even then I'm happy.

It's folded to the SB, he open pushes for 19BB, this is how bad players steal. AK is the only hand he does this with that dominates you. If you win a race you're sitting behind 28k and in a great position.

Unless I've only seen him push QQ+/AK, I'm calling here everytime.

    no new table

I would put him on a middle pair most of the time along with the occasional AK so I fold.

I think you have to make this totally player dependant. Aggressive players are pushing with a wide range of hands here tighter players are going to take there free hands coming up and look for a decent hand out of one of those. Against an unknown I don't think there is a huge EV difference between calling and folding.

Pushing pf in that position with no callers before makes me think 77 - JJ.

    I call.

    I call.

Your only 44% to win if that is his range.

True, 44.91% at best according to CardPlayer.

Guess it depends on chip counts, player etc.

I'm always willing to take a coin-flip anyway.

The last 2 times I made a call here against a similar sized push with AK I was up against J8s and Q7s and both were higher buy in freeze outs and not early on in the tournament either.
