Hold down ctrl when you issue the move or attack order. The units will arrange themselves in a formation and then move/attack. If your using alot of units it can be a pain in the arse as they rearrange themselves first and it can take a minute or two ships.... I just change the game speed to 10 and wait a bit.

The supreme AI isn't that great actually, it will pretty much only send T1 and experimental units at you. Once you survive the initial T1 lot, just build up to protect yourself against the experimentals of whatever faction it is playing and you can beat them easily.

Facing off against 3 Supreme AI's on fields of Isis is fun
