Licence restrictions

I passed my test on a Gilera Runner 180SP in June 2003. For some reason my license is not restricted to automatics! Anyway the time has come to sell the Runner - great bike and I'll be sorry to part with her but it's a bitch to start in the winter and may need a new exhaust soon - €500! After a bit of research I don't think I'll be able to get a scooter to match it and am thinking of getting a motorbike. Any suggestions as to what would be a good beginners bike? Will be using it every day for Dublin commuting + occasional motorway. I like the look of the Bandit and other naked bikes. I'm 38 and have a full no claims bonus.

I plan to get some more training from Dave Lyons again as I've never ridden a geared bike before. I presume my insurance company would have no way of finding out the fact that I passed my test on an automatic?

Yamaha Dragstar, and you dont have to stick to the 125 or 250 either, the 650 is learner legal. I drive it and its never given me any trouble in the 4 years I've had it.

bandit 600 I'd say - you're not restricted, license or insurnace wise so get something you're gonna keep for a good few years anyway :) 600 minimum imo - get it restricted if you're concerned about taking it easy in the beginning - though I reckon you'll be grand ;)

    gsr600
    bandit 600
    sv650
    ducati monster
    kawasaki er6n
    hornet 600
fazer 600 (can get em naked, look great)

cant think of any more atm ;)

Are you sure? No three digit codes in the notes section?

In Cavan there was a great fire / Judge McCarthy was sent to inquire / It would be a shame / If the nuns were to blame / So it had to be caused by a wire.
