    Rian Ryan (Electricity)
    Dave Prior (Junction)

Junction is back with its fourth instalment down at the Cavern on Friday the 25th of May. On the night we are happy to see the return of the Jon and Stuey to the club. The lads will be playing a high octane mash up of industrial and broken beat techno with overlapping live midi percussion. If its anything to go by the last time the lads played back in august its guaranteed to be stomper and its not to be missed.
Also on the night we have the turntabalist and techno purist that is Rian Ryan. A regular on the decks at Electricity supporting more techno superstars than you could shake a stick at! Expect lots of chopping, beat juggling and everything from electro to jackin ghetto from one of the busiest djs on the scene.
Junction resident Dave Prior will be on warm up duty and no better man for the job. Dave comes highly recommended with his tougher take on minimal and has been rocking venues around the city over the last few months.

    Jon Hussey:

Jon grew up in Dublin where he first got into the new emerging house/techno sound around ’88 ’89. His first venture into dance music was visiting Sides and later the Mansion house in Dublin. About this time early house, acidhouse & techno was been played & he became hooked on this strange and emotive sound. In 1990 Jon moved to London and was exposed to the immensity of what was exploding with techno & house

“ My head was blown from parties to clubs to pirate radio were you would switch on the radio & with every minuscule movement of the tuner bang you were bombarded with techno/house/rave & breaks it was seriously exciting and felt like the electronic mayhem was taking over literally”

It was here he decided that he wanted to pass this sound on to as many people as possible and be a part of channelling it to them and decided that he would learn how to DJ.
In 1991 back in Dublin he continued to buy records and by ’92 started to play in small house parties and by ’93 started a club with some friends called Planet Dub @ Columbia mills in Dublin and The Clarence in Sligo. Jon continued over the years inspired by the music he was hearing to promoting such nights as:
Awe in Fibber Magees in Dublin ’95, 5-HT in Navan ’95, Ascencion in Galway ’96/97, Pulsar in Sligo ’97 – ’99

In 99 Jon qualified for the Red Bull Music Academy where he spent two weeks in Berlin with many djs, producers and like minded people.

Jon has played alongside some of his favourite artists like The Surgeon, Inigo Kennedy and Steve Bicknell, but Boomerang (2001) in Bratislava playing with Toky (Rumenige) & Dalo (Olga & Joseph), and recently playing with DJ Boss & Rumenige in Slovakia has helped to keep him inspired in the harder realms of Techno.

    Stuey Lyons:

Stuey is one of the most talented local Techno DJ’s with his unique style of Minimal Techno & Electro, sometimes combining Drum Machine’s with his deck skills sometimes minimal but always gritty using the Pioneer DJM600 mixer as a musical tool has found favour in a number of clubs around the city such as Junction, Electricity and Undertracks.

On the night and Jon will play back to back with Stuey warming things up then, Stuey switching to some Trigger Finger Live Drum Machine and Ableton controlled EFX, samples & Drums to add to the momentum to Jon’s deck set.
