FT hand from jackpot gamblefest

So final table at the jackpot student tournament.

So far, I have been tight at the table, the villian has been aggressive and has raised a fair bit pf. He has also called a raise oop with KJ earlier on. Hand previous I raised his sb on the co, he called and a continuation bet on the flop took it down.

This hand I am 1 before the co and he is on the button. The table is 6 handed
    Blinds are 1000-2000
I am sitting on around 35,000. Villian covers me but not by all that much

I look down at A4, it's folded around to me. I make it 6000 and he calls.
Flop is AT3 all diamonds, I don't have any diamonds.
    I check and he checks
Turn is a Jack of clubs.
    I check, he bets 10,000

Comments on how I played hand so far and what to do next?

With top pair on the flop, and the diamond draw there I would have made him pay to see the turn if he's holding a diamond. About 3/4 pot bet?

Tough position to be in. You have hardly any chips as it is so no much room to move. If you are playing to win push all in he could well just be betting to take the pot there holding a decent diamond. I think he is going to re-raise you pre-flop with a big ace so don't worry about that. If he flips over two diamonds so be it. Folding leaves you with only enough chips to be pushing all in on any hand you want to play whereas if you push and he folds you now have an almost decent stack.

as played there's no way you can fold.

I can only assume you checked on the turn hoping to induce a bet. Of course there is a chance that you are behind, but having checked to him twice there are a lot of hands that you beat that he is betting with here. I suggest you shove and hope he calls you light, or else take it down now.

Why would you fold, whats his range?

I'm with the shove brigade here too.

You have played the hand ultra week, admitedly you do not have a very strong holding but villain in the hand may just be attempting to take a pot that you seemingly do not want.

Well yeah in a way I was and also I didn't want to bet it and have him coming over the top of me as that would have put me in a tough spot.

u can't fold now. Shove is probably best.

Hmmm I thought you covered him? He was pretty short stacked in the FT. And I'd shoved there as well.

BTW was that when he flopped the nut straight, and nearly stacked the table chip leader?

Yep, I raised it with 45 and he and the other guy called, I thankfully checked folded the flop.

I started on table 7 across the road.
