Quick Launch Icons & Recycle Bin moving

    Each time I start up my pc, my quick launch icons don't show up and the recycle bin is positioned on the lower right of the screen. I have to manually move the bin bach to the upper left and right click the task bar to call up the quick launch buttons.

    I am running IE7, with AVG & Zonealarm, Spybot & Adaware and regseeker.

    I have checked the registery for some entries that were suggested on a google search, but to no avail.

    It's only a small issue, but it's really p*ssing me off :mad:

    Any suggestions as to what will restore it?

    Right click a blank part of the Desktop & choose "Arrange Icons By" & make sure "Auto Arrange" & "Lock Web Items on Desktop" are not selected.

    Neither of those are ticked gadgetman...:(

    Hello Cmar-Ireland,

    Does this happen if you log on as a different user?

    Is it only the Recyle bin icon which moves? Do other desktop icons move too?

    Only the recycle bin moves bartleby, the other icons stay put. The quick launch buttons have to be ticked back on every time I start up.
    I'm the only user so I don't have any other users on it...

    Hello Cmar-Ireland,

    I'd be curious to see if it happens to other users (maybe if you created another Test user account and logged on/off a few times to see if Quick Launch and Recycle Bin were affected for that user.)

    I had a look around and this forum discussion seems to have lots of things to try (about 4 pages worth). Maybe give it a look:
