Was thinking of gettin a star sl9 sniper as my next gun but it's ever so slightly over the limit at its lowest fps range 340fps which works out at 1.072 joules but it could be 1.202 @ 360fps, anyone ever get a gun that was just a tad over the limit, also can you get the fps reduced? SL9 really wanna be able to get it! another site said Energie max.: 106 m/s / 350 FPS / 1,10 Joule but thats max! any advice? my alternative is to get a g36 conversion kit but thats too costly as the gun already costs a bomb!

probably be no problem, but dont quote me on it - technically its the importation of a firearm :( a 1j aeg sniper I wouldnt expect too much from either, but hell the heart wants what the heart wants (great lookin yokes) :)
Maybe wait a lil while, see what the story is with the customs mallarky - myself and a few others had guns held in customs - dont know if the power-output was tested - its unlikely they were

i've heard a rumour that customs dont actually have the equipment (i.e. a chronograph) to test the fps of an aeg, not sure if this is true or not, but the documentation with your aeg would most likely be what they base it on, if they are unsure, it would likely be sent to the gardaí ballistics people for testing

depending on who you buy it from, you could ask that a 1J spring be installed before shipping it to you and a certificate to say it fires at 1J or less be put in with the package, i think rsov downgraded a JG g36 for someone here before, but i dont think they have the sl9

redwolf or someone like that would probably do the downgrade for you, they do upgrades so they have someone is capable of taking apart an AEG

Most sites over state the FPS/power but as Wossack says a 1j sniper will be very disapointing

thanks guys! good advice, gonna save over the summer for it, I have a styer Aug so i'll have fun with that for a while! I heard that all you need is proper ;) documentation. although i'd be happier having a 1 joule spring installed, it could always be upgraded after it arrives. Gettin a tm g18c ebb from japan soon, any1 have it?

if your talking about upgrading to above 1J, no you cant, because then you would be in possession of an unlicensed firearm. You will not be allowed to play on any sites in the republic and would bring the sport of airsoft into disrepute.

If your talking about upgrading from sub-1J to 1J, then all well and good, did the same with my mp5 (although it's yet to be chrono'd with the new spring, it's a 1J spring in it)

ya with a 1 joule spring, i want something less in it for shipping so no chance they can say it's over

Thats true rew no rhyming on purpose:p
Chances are out of the box it will shoot over the limit but after a while itll probably go down to legal levels and customs dont have chronos that will work on Aegs either just when your playing make sure others know that it is over the limit

eh......... if your playing at hrta, paul wont allow anything over 1 Joule

Which is understandable, because it is illegal. Where's a link to find out where hrta is? as I'm moving to dublin for the summer.
