Can anyone reccommend a good shop to buy an MP3 player, or even a good MP3 player for that matter?

I'd be looking for something with about 10-20GB with a max price range of €400...

Peats and Harvey Normans are good places to get an idea of what's available.

No requirements really, just as previously stated 10-20GB, radio/large screen/video playback not necessity.

That's confusing - are you saying that you don't need radio nor large screen nor video?

lol sorry! I meant that none of them are a major necessity, if an MP3 player has them great, but if mine doesnt I wont miss them!

Then, as someone said earlier, you can take your pick really. Most of the current batch of players are at a high standard, technology has moved on to the point where companies really have to make an effort to make a bad player these days. You probably should pick based on just what you like the look of, both style and size wise. Ease of use may be an issue too and for that I'd always consider the iPod range, good quality, robust and just very easy to maintain.

"Pixels" is a useful shop, though it specialises in cameras, it also has mp3 players and has the Apple range plus, last time I was there, iRiver players and Creative players - so you can see the alternatives side by side. The drawback of Peats is that they won't sell you an iPod. Alternatively, go to the 3G or O2 stores, fondle the iPods for a while, then go round to Peats and see if you prefer the competition.

You're going to find it hard to get objective advice on this as there are people here that use iPods, are happy and content with them and then there are people who seem bitter about the iPods success and just want to stop anybody buying one as a sort of vocation. But I think you can assume that the sound will be good on whatever player you choose, so just use your instinct for the rest ... :)
