Faster than a VEYRON

Here is a car faster than the buggati veyron.

2006 Venom 1000 Twin Turbo SRT Coupe

# Power: 1000 hp @ 5000 rpm
# 1100 lb-ft torque @ 3800 rpm

Performance:
# 0-60 mph: 2.9 sec.
# 0-100 mph: 5.9 sec.
# 0-150 mph: 10.9 sec.
# 0-200 mph: 19.9 sec.
# Top Speed: 255 mph

I would prefer this in black than have a veyron.Im not joking

And its more exclusive theirs only 24 being built.

Hennessey Performance have a very bad name in the US for tuning. Their work is shocking

Maybe so, they only built 80 Veyrons but that Viper Venom looks like a normal Viper to your average Joe and they are a pretty common sight in the US.

Everyone to their own I guess but I'd still rather the Veyron.

Edit: Just googled it and there are only 80 Veyrons built. TDC got there first.

that is just a modified viper. you might as well start a thread about a modified skyline thats faster than a veyron. and maybe, just maybe, a person that can afford a veyron will probably be able to afford a house and a few more cars too.

then you could consider the Ford GT Twin Turbo too... or the Barabus TKR which is basically a suped up Saleen S7 will be faster than the Veyron... but I'd still rather a Veyron.

I really think there will be more than 300 made.Theres still demand for them so they will make them.Its not like the enzo where they atated at the start that 300 were made and no more will be made.

that is where youre getting your info from? exotic-spotter? are you serious?

look through all the pictures and you will see that there are a lot of pictures of the same veyrons. several of the other pictures are prototypes and show cars. count them, i bet there will be less than 40. i think you just saw 9 pages and said "wow there are thousands!" - well take a look at the enzo's. http://exoticspotter.com/listingVehicle.php?page=24&make=5&model=33&location=all

25 pages of enzo pics so that must work out at something like 10,000 enzo's out there - right dre?

and hennessy are modifying the veyron themselves to make it faster, so i guess that the viper isnt faster than the veyron now.

Bugatti are planning to make 300 Veyrons in total, so far they have made about 70. With a car that loses them as much money per unit as a Veyron, they can't afford to build too many of them!!

VAG make a huge loss on each one they produce. It was only built to see if they could be accomplished. Even a corporate empire like VAG cannot sustain that for too long.

I dont like the veyron at all. For several reasons,

• I think its ugly
• Its very heavy, power to weight ratio is not very high(for a super/hyper car)
• It is not that fast considering how much it cost, infact its slow in terms of speed to cost ratio
• It is too expensive to maintain even for a super/hyper car
• You can only drive it at its top speed for 12 min before it runs out of fuel
• the fact that its a few miles an hour faster than cars like the mclaren f1 is imo meaningless, i wonder how many of its owners have taken it to its top speed.

There are lots of cars i want to own which i cant afford or even will likley never be able to afford or wont buy due to buying a house instead but the veyron would definatley not be on that list. I dont mean to be starting arguments and i can see how peopel are wowed by them just my opinion.

Yes you said the right words. I would prefer other cars to the veyron, the veyron is just hype and doesnt look the very best

Have any of ye actually read any review of the Veyron. EVERY car mag/journalist who has driven it has been astonished by it(what did James May say after doing 253mph anyone). Its in a completely different league to any car ever made(anyone see the video of the veyron pull on the McLaren F1 at 100mph+, it pulled a few car lenghts out).

To me and most petrol heads this is the ultimate car ever made, and is likely to remain as the ultimate car ever made for a long time. This is the cost of getting it right(yes it costs £5m per car) countless hours testing, redesigns etc. The konisegg's original car was not very reliable(anyone see the one in the gumball across the states, the konisegg broke down with a different problem EVERY day) and I doubt the new car is going to be half what the veyron is.

I'm sure there will be loads of replies saying I'm wrong, go read what the people who have actually driven this car have to say about it.

Yeah sharkman ive seen the veyron afew times with B1 as the reg but it is nice, the guy parked here afew times in the day and my cousins office is just around the corner so we came out to have a look. I had pictures but my computer had a virus so i had to delete them.:( im not saying its bad.I just think its alot of money for a hyped up car.Heres a link to the veyron im talking about

Power to weight ratio might be what you think is low, but it still holds the world production car speed record.
Speed to cost ratio - what kind of sillyness is that? Out and out speed is only a part of the equation. If thats the case then why look at cars at all? A brand new super bike is about €20,000 and will take you not far off 200mph.. in that case just close the car thread as cars are pointless... speed to cost ratio of them is bad!!
Too expensive to maintain - yet you say that the mclaren f1 is almost as good... the mclaren costs £25,000 to service... hardly pocket change!
12 mins on a full tank... thats over 50 miles to a full tank at 252 miles per hour! You'd do well to get 50 miles from a full tank in an Evo at full throttle.
And only a few miles faster than the mclaren - well swallow this statistic... you can line up a McLaren F1 along side the Veyron, give the McLaren a 10 second head start (after which point it's at 124mph) then set off in the bugatti and you'll still beat the McLaren to 200mph!! Thats not impressive, thats awesome!!

I think some people might be missing the point of the Veyron.

It was a dream that the VAG Vice President simply wanted to turn into reality. VAG were never going to make money from the project and it was never designed to be pretty. It was probably the ultimate car engineering acomplishment and the only reason it was built was simply to see if it could be done.
