So we all know how well bottom feeder and hectorjelly outplay everyone on a regular basis. We know how bad Lloyd takes a beat, how tired ditpoker gets which leads to funny stuff. But here i wanna hear about the worst move or play you have ever made.

WEll as a player who rarley puts his chips over the line without a monster i decided one night in the jackpot to call a big pre flop bet with q7 suited to a guy who hadnt played a hand all night.

Flop comes down 7 high i check to trap (it made sense at the time) player checks behind me i decide he has ak and has missed turn is a blank i bet he reraises i still somehow think im ahead and push he calls has qq of course and thats 350 down the drain. Defo the worst hand i have ever played got every bit of it wrong from start to finish jeff wanted to cry when he saw it.

In my younger days I once pulled a squeeze play in the Jackpot €20 freezeout. It got through (somehow!) but was without doubt the stupidest poker idea I ever had, attempting to squeeze through 6 calling stations

And then i showed the 74o. Genius.

Three bad recent plays by me.

    1. Calling a raise oop against Lloyd with KJo. I should have pushed having read him to be weak.

    2. Cash game, I limp UTG blind, Delanec8 pots from cut off, i look down at AJs and repot to 60 odd, he dwells and pushes, I get my 220 odd across the line and he flips KK. He did something similar to me a few weeks ago when I was drunk and showed J8 after I folded 10 10 I think...

    3. Cash league final in SE I CRAI on a 10 high, all heart flop with Jd10d - villian folds JhJc face up. This is one of my worst playes in recent times and one I am still really really annoyed about.

Okay my worst by a long shot,
I checked a straight flush on the river in the Final of the Round of each Saturday Night donkament in the Fitz, when down to three and. He checked as well and I had to say straight flush. Nic nearly fell of chair laughing. er I didn't value bet cause I didnt want to look back at my cards.

when I went out on the bubble of the 330 gjp side event in november. I raised a10, got 3bet and shoved over the top, he called with 1010. I went on to repeat the same move with 66 vs AA the next day in the 220 game. heehaw. then blew 5-600 in the cash games on extreme tilt in about half an hour. including shoving over a raise with kk on a A-high board, I rivered a king tho so that was ok lol.

No defence but the 4th heart came on the river and a little voice in my head was saying "you filled the straight flush" while my mouth blurted out "CHECK"

My winner goes back a few months. (details may be slightly incorrect).

Early stages of one of the scalps games in the SE(not sure which).

    Other player is mickste.

I have QJ in the SB and limp in.

    Flop is J4x rainbow.
I bet the flop, and mickste calls.
Turn's a blank, and i bet again, called again.

    River is a 4.
    I check, mick checks.
Mick declares 2 pair and i muck. He turns over JT for a worse 2 pair than me.

Being the genius that i am, i didn't cop onto the fact that i also had 2 pair because i was only paying attention to the pair of jacks i flopped.

    :o

Definitely the worst hand I ever played was in the irish open side event last year. It was a 300 freezeout and previously to it the biggest game I had played was the 30 freezeout on a sunday in the fitz. I got in through a college sat and the first table I got was uber aggressive.
Anyway I do pretty much nothing for the first round or two and then get queens utg, I limp :( at least three or four callers after me and the flop comes paired, 773 or something like that, SB checks BB checks I check and button checs, turn is an x. checked to me, I check, guy on button bets half pot, blinds fold... I FLAT CALL :(
river is another blank, I check button goes all in for about twice the pot! I fold when it was so obvious that an overpair was absolutely acres in front.

To make it worse nobody believed me when I said I folded queens....

    This still haunts me......

GJP live sat to the 2006 IO. 3 tickets and 300 for 4th (basically money back). We just went 4 handed with 2 big stacks and myself and Ollie Boyce very short and fighting it out for the 3rd ticket. Think it was the first hand with 4 and im BB to Ollie's SB or Button (may not have been an SB). Folded to Ollie and he duly lumps. I know he's doing this with anything. I look down at A2 and fold. This is with about 5 BB's each. He won the ticket and told me later he had Jx. It remains the biggest mistake i've ever made when you take payout etc into account. Horrific.

ugh... €150 with one rebuy or top up Irish Open qualifier. 6 hands in and i'm on the small blind. after a few limpers i look down at AQ and decide skillfully not to raise... sure this poker thing is easy!

flop, AKJrainbow... wooo i've top pair with a good kicker. i raise it up.. chap in mid position (who i know to be a donk) doesnt even think, he re-raises me... ok, i'll have a think about this... he's limped in.. maybe he has a decent ace so he's likely to have 2 pair... or maybe even QT for the nuts... he would flat call me if he had a worse ace, maybe KJ... well since these are all his likely hands and im behind to all of them, the best possible thing for me to do is RE-re-raise and see where i stand... ok.. so i reraise for half my starting stack... now he has to fold unless he has me beat, right!? well he pushes... now I know he has me beat... so why are my hands pushing my chips across the line and why am i saying call!?!?

oooh look, he has QT... taxi!!!!!

lol i've fond memories or that 64 alright

€100 last longest @ the zoo for the mentally challanged tonight??

(you all gotta see it to believe it)

My exit hand last week was funny:

I was SS on the BB with K6

MP min raise to 1600 (monkey)

SB Call (Decent solid - very rare!)
    I call

    Flop KJ2r

Checked around (I'm short and think at least monkey will CB)

    Turn Q completes rainbow

    SB Bets 2400
    I push for 4000 more

Monkey instacalls (i've him covered by 600)

    I am fu*ked!!

    SB folds

He shows K5 and spikes the 5 OTR

oh what lol's we all had!!

Agianst some old dear in the fitz some months back, she only plays when she has a hand, so apart from turning her cards face over and showing me her hand, it could not have been more obvious, I still called her reaise after the river on an A K Q 10 9 board. I'd two pair and just couldn't fold. It was like I was possessed by some 'old dear' satanic force to give her my chips. I couldn't explain it. I woke up next day naked beside the shower with a dead chicken beside me and the words. 'I OWN YOU' written on the bathroon mirror. I think I should have folded that one.
The 1st half of this tale was witnessed by a boardsie, I'm sure he wwas impressed..

about 5 places off the money in the irish open last year with the blinds at 1k/2k i raised to 6k from the sb with 78o.mel judah in the big blind reraised to 19k very quickly.i shoved for 80k and he folded after thinking for absolutely ages.he told me afterwards he folded 99.at the time i though i had made some amazing bluff but thinking about it afterwards it was pure insanity.what made it worse was i then showed the bluff and got no respect for the rest of the day.

Boards online tournament. Waylander (i think) raised it in MP, I called on the BB with 10Jo. Flop AAx. I bet thinking he can only call with an A. He does. Turn another rag and I say "right lets find out if he really has an A" and go all in. He didn't have one, he had two of them. Even if he didn't if was a donkey bet.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,143 ✭✭✭bubbleking

i JUST called a large river raise with a straight flush.

then accidently slow rolled the guy that had the ace high flush before i actually realised i had him beat...oops :o

My worse play comes in that game as well, I raise utg+1 with Kings, guy utg who limped re-raised, I think zomg he must have aces and call. Flop is queen high and I fold to is all-in. He dutifully turns over his Q7 and I cry.

worst hand recently, versus scot guy in emp week or two ago -
he limps and i raise with 44
    Flop 973 he bets out 600 (pot 1200) i re-raise to 1800
He only flat calls, i think ok i have him, he's weak, prob Ak or maybe 66
    turn 8
he bets out 1200 (he has a perculiar way of betting, but with this strength shown i should have jumped ship)
After alot of speech play he value bets river, and seeing that i cant possibly put him on a hand i call, leaving myself with 2.3k out of 7k in the first level

He had j10 - wp sir!!

Particularly drunk one night, I somehow find a seat in the round of each in the fitz and grab a few hundred out of my pocket. The entire table goes silent as I fumble with my money.. probably a bit scared of me! First and only hand, I get dealt two random cards, J3 I think. I shout pot before I even look at them. Half the table calls including Mick Hoey. They know I have nothing. Flop Axx. I shout pot again. Mick and one other deliberate and both call, probably with K high. Turn x. I go all in. They both reluctantly fold. I throw over J3 as if god just outplayed them, stand up to leave, stuff the chips in my pocket and trip over the chair...

Not my worst, but still makes me cringe 2 years on....

I had been playing in the Macau about 6 months and knew quite a few of the more uber-aggresive players down there. I'm at the table with 1 of them and I get A4s in the sb, so call his almost automatic preflop raise. Flop comes all diamonds and I push for about 6 times the pot. He tanks a little (though I suspect it's all for show) then folds. And then I show the frigging nuts to him. Oh god. I think I went home about 10 minutes later.

(For a while, I convinced myself that the overbet should've enticed him in, thinking I might be bluffing, but I was just kidding myself)

The ol, hit , bet, fart, bet, burp, bet, rake in, fart, show bluff, fall, and run move. It's usually the fart that gets you the pot.
