    Hi All,

We are thinking of a holiday in Iceland and would like to know the following if anyone out there has been:
    1) When is the best time to visit weather wise
    2) What place is the best to visit for activity both day and night
    3) Is it a very expensive country
    4) Whats the best route to get there. Flying from london looks cheapest

    Thanks in adbvance for comments,

    Slimbo

    1, Summer
2, Not quite sure what you mean by this, but night life in Reykajavik is good.
3, Very expensive when I was there but I hear that there has been a financial meltdown and not sure what prices are like now...
4, Icelandair flies from London and are quite good.
5, Don't try and bring in more drink than you are allowed, they are strict and if caught (i was) they will take you in to the office and charge you a hefty whack of duty/fine.
By all means bring in the legal maximum of wine/spirits/brennivin.
Food is quite plain , hotdogs cheapest food going, summer means 24 hr partying in the streets as there is no darkness just a little twilight.

You can fly iceland air from scotland and heathrow but the cheapest is a low cost carrier called icelandexpress from stanstead.

    Think ryanair - viking style.

Good luck, tell us how you get on.
