Dragonplus, connecting a wireless controller???

Hi, my brother sent home a Playstation 3 from his travels and I'm trying to get it going.
It doesnt have the "six-axis" controller that is specified in the user manual. Instead it has a different make (Dragonplus) wireless controller that looks exactly the same as the regular PS3 controller bar 1 or 2 minor differences ie. 1.No usb port, 2.It only has a power LED and Mode LED.

Anyway I cant get this dragonplus controller to connect with the PS3. When I startup the PS3 I cant get past the first settings page (asking which language I want), and I have tried it every way possible. There are two controllers and each has a seperate Receiver that plugs into the PS3 USB ports. On the Receiver there is 1 green power LED and 1 yellow LED and a power button.

Google hasn't helped, so any help would be appreciated.

    Cheers
    P.

its sounds to me like the controllers aren't made for the ps3. typical ps3 controllers connect using bluetooth that is built into the system, not receivers! at least not with any 3rd party controllers iv come across.

ok, solved by new batteriers would you believe. Semi used ones will not suffice, even though they control the tv perfectly!
    anyway thanks.
