    Hi,

I will shortly be moving to a new address with only one phone socket in the entire house!

The computer will be located upstairs in office/study but phone point is downstairs in hall which is where wireless router will be plugged in. Rather than run a long extension cable upstairs and connect to internet via ethernet I am thinking of getting a wireless adaptor for PC.

Can anyone recommend a good, reliable USB wireless adaptor which supports at least WPA-PSK encryption? Will there be a noticeable difference in speeds (slower) using wireless option as opposed to wired ethernet or will it not make much difference?

    Any advice/recommendations would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Rebeller

It is a good idea (although not essential) to get a wireless adapter that matches the brand of your wireless router or modem - any adapter conforming to the wireless 'g' standard should be able to provide wpa security.
