What ever happened to the grudge match...

A while and prob a few thousand threads back there was an idea about a grudge match because people use to go a each other in threads.
I think Bops or some one else then introduced a grudge match idea where those ppl would seat down at a winner takes all game.
I think the original candidates were :
My self,Bops,HJ,Pillowtalk,Rooney Dives .there could have been one or two more that I may have forgotten about.
Im sure Lloyed and BCB would be interested in participating in this due to recent events.
I propose a 200(cant really afford more than that) SnG with 10K stack and at least 30 min clock.
Im sure for a small reg fee we can get the fitz or SE to accoumidate us on a day that is not so busy for them.
If the named people are still interested then we can get this going soon and if not then Meh…

Why don't you pm the people in question, arrange a home game, hire a dealer for the night, kick the sh*t outta eachother, then go drinking.

If its for the honour of "Im a better player than you", ive more levels of play than hours in the day" title, than the money aspect shouldn't come into it. You could go online and play a STT for $50, then you have the hand history etc., to tear apart later, discuss etc.,

I think this whole grudge match is a bit silly tbh. Let's say you win, does that mean all the other participents have to agree with you analysis of hands etc., Meh.

No Smurph I think you got this all wrong,
This is not to say who is a better player between us at all,this is purely bragging rights and a bit of craic that’s all.
As for the money I don’t really care how much it is for as long as it’s a playable structure but I was stating the max I could afford right now.
Also I thought with a bit of money in there it may give people an extra incentive to play their best game.

This is a great idea. The prize though should be fitting of such a clash of testosteronal gladiators.

Methinks, a 50 quid freezout with the winner receiving a beautifully finished Gucchi Handbag, containing inside a nice silk pair of twisted knickers. Refreshments will be Ritz n Ice. You just go girls...

I think ppl may have taken Gholli up the wrong way.

Personally Id love to play something like this, not in the guise of a grudge match, but because I think it would be a great opportunity to play with some quality players. It would surely be great craic and provide plenty of banter at the table.

€200 sounds fine to me, It would effectively be a satellite of sorts for some of the upcoming festivals. A couple of stipulations, we play it some Saturday afternoon/evening Or Sunday afternoon and the winner must blow a few hundred on beer for the others afterwards at which point we can disect other peoples play.

Done in the right spirits (and im sure this is what Gholli intended) it has the makings of an enjoyable game.

Others like NFR and OCallagh would probably be up for something like this also.

Right this is exactly what I meant, and in that spirit, im looking for 10 players who are willing to up 200 to play a game like this.
It will be a winner take all game but all the expenses for organising this will be taken from the prise pool.
All players will also be signing off to having at least 3 pints after wards in a venue chosen by the majority of participants. This will also be paid for from the prise pool.
The remaining money and all the bragging rights are all for winner to keep until next such event (if it ever happens).
This event will be held on a Saturday afternoon (maybe Sunday ) and the date and venue is to be announced later.
I think the bragging rights in this event will be well worth having.
