Well I was just over at the NME website a second ago and I see that Prince is going to London for a 21 night residency. Tickets going on sale this friday for £31.21 and include his new album...I think that I will most certainly be attending this show. Anyone else interested??
Oh also, I couldn't see him listed on Ticketmaster, anyone know where the tickets are going on sale?

Have been at all of Prince's Irish Concerts the last one "Rainbow Children" tour was one of the best gigs I have seen ,his guitar work has to be seen live. ...looks like we will not see him this year (Electric Picnic romur did not work out !) , so will have to get to LONDON.

Pity there are no late night fights from London city Airport as it is beside the O2 Dome, could have got a flight home straight after the gig

    thats right ;)
I read somewhere he will be doing a different show every night cos he said his fans will be going to more than 1 show. He actually said his band have "150 songs" rehearsed to work from.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,450 ✭✭✭dimerocks

yeah i haerd that too. 150 is ****ing mad, I just bought my tickets for the show on saturday the 11th. If he does a small one around the same time i'll go to that too. I'm delighted!
In a comedic twist litterally seconds after i bought 3 tickets a buddy texted me and told me he can't go. Aghhh

my timing must have been well off yesterday, couldn't get decent seats any night I went looking for (unfortunately I'm limited to weekends as I won't have holidays left after my wedding....doh!)
anyway, guess I'll keep looking, more dates to come, have to get something.....

no Savman you won't have any problems shifting spare tickets, they were adding a date every 30-45 mins on Friday, if they'd added them all together I'd have stood a better change - damn work getting in the way too....lol

oh my god... I can't believe I just found out about this! tried gettin tickets for dates that I'm off work.. I'll just be back from Spain when they start and I can't get more annual leave.. can't get tickets for anydate that suits.. may have to be callin in sick...

Anyone been over yet? Was at it on Saturday, unbelieveable show, he's some performer, better than I ever remember him been in Dublin. Seemed far more comfortable with his surroundings and the band which you'd imagine considering the residency. Alot of classics played, more than other nights according to some of the die hards that have been at a few. Semi-acoustic encore.

Great venue for the show too, would really recommend it if you can get over to it. All the places in Leicester Square that sell the West End tickets are flogging tickets to all the shows. Nikka Costa is the support act, her band are great but you couldn't make out a word that she was singing. Crowd didn't get into her at all.

Nikka Costa has a great duet with Prince though, seen this on the DVD cant remember the name of the DVD. But i think it was shot from a concert in Vegas.

My tickets for 1 september, cant wait !

The man is a legend. Saw him in 1987 and 1988 when he ruled the planet. Speaking of which:The new album "Planet Earth" isn't up there with his best BUT is still a good album.

Can't go to see his gigs but I envy all of you who go over and see him in London. Have fun!!!

Was over Friday and Saturday. Friday gig was fantastic but was topped by a truly amazing aftershow. Beverly Knight was support and was joined on stage by Prince and the band. You could see she was almost in tears with joy. Finished up at 3.30am.

where exactly is the aftershow held??

and how do u manage to get tickets??

Aftershow is held in a place called Indigo which is inside the O2 Arena. There are a few bars and food places inside it too. Best thing to do if you are heading over is to go to one of the bars after the gig and head to Indigo for a little before 1am. There is no point rushing as there will be a massive queue to get in and really there is no advantage to getting in early as you will be squashed up the front watching a curtin for a couple of hours.

You can buy tickets for the aftershows on ticketmaster or if they are sold out there the venue were selling some after the gigs too. I gave away my tickets for the aftershow for the Saturday as i was just too wrecked to go in. Glad i did now as he didnt play then :)

If you're heading just to go to the pre-show you'd want to be there well in advance.

People were already in line for the tickets at Indigo at 8am the morning of the gig I was at.
