DS Should i buy ?

Hi guys ive been thinking of buying a DS i was wondering if ye would recomend it and could ye give me a run down on what it can do ( ie : Play mp3's video etc ? ) and what games i should get .

I had a PSP robbed and im not sure if i should replace that or get a DS the DS looks more fun

It can't play videos or music or anything as far as I know.
The games are fun but if you want movies/songs then get a PSP.

There could be a way of playing them though...

Not on its own. But theres a thread in Bargain Alerts on R4 cards which can play video / music on your DS. Highly recommended.

A DS is most definitely worth buying. So is an R4 Card. Actually, owning a DS without an R4 card is insanity.

They're only 44 dollars shipped WITH a 1gb micro sd card. I've already bought 4. (Not all for myself, mind )

i think ill get one guys , any recomendations i know there is a DS lite for 150 is that much different from the older ones ? and what games im thinking that brain training one and mario kart to start me off

can ye expand on this R4 card is it a mem card that i save music how much will it be in a normal shop i want to get it befor e my hols on thursday

Go for the DS lite. It makes the older DS phat look like a load of crap.

The r4 allows you to play music, video, homebrew and er...*backups*(But we won't go into that)

Everything is stored on a micro sd card which you insert into a ds sized card. You can use as many micro sd cards as you want. So there's no real memory limit. Dealextreme.com sell them for 44 dollars shipped. less than the cost of a game(The site is down at the moment. They're updating servers or something along those lines) It includes Everything you need to get started. Very easy to use.

Cool guys thanks for the help i think ill get one , i had the chance to get a DS lite for 125 last week on ibood ( well with postage it would be 138 ) which i didnt feel was that much cheaper than the shops but iv been thinking all week about getting one .

Last question i promise graphics wise what am i to expect PS1 or Snes or half way between PS1 and PS2 ?

They were going for that cheap on Ibood? Nice. I got mine myself for 90E in New York

What to expect from graphics? Erm..well, they've ported over n64 games. So it can do decent enough 3D. Metroid Prime looks really really good on it. It's not a PSP though, so just keep that in mind.

If you like good game play, like pokemon and mario you should get it. i just got the new pokemon and its so good, havnt touched my PSP in months

don't expect graphics better than ps1/n64 but the game play easily makes up for that.

R4 is cheaper than the m3 and they're more or less the same thing. 33 euro well invested. Seems to have a better online community too.

I would say that the graphics are definately better than PS1. They're supposed to be on par with N64, but not with some games. However the like of Mario Kart DS has better graphics than Mario Kart 64. I have both.
