A new type of failed recording?

    On my HD box I have had a few recordings that appeared to have been made (didn't say failed or anything) but there was no way to play them - can press select to go into the info, but then couldn't go any further, backup doesn't work, and you have to press 'Sky' to get out of it. Anyone else come across this?

    Happened to me too a couple of times after the anytime launch, seen a few other reports of it too on other sites. Seems there is no way to get these recordings to play, all you can do is delete them. Looks like its a bug in the new software.

    Have you tried starting the playback a couple of minutes into the recording, so after you press select press (lets say) the number 3 and select again to start, this works sometimes, so instead of starting at point zero you start 3 minutes (or whatever you choose) into the recording.

    Does the info banner tell you that its recorded OK? and give you a percentage use?

    Tried that but did not work. Info banner says recorded and a percentage use is given. Seems to effect only occasional random recordings.

    Exact same happened to me. Although I presumed it had to do with my specific circumstances. I was watching a soccer match on RTE that went into extra time. I started recording towards the end of extra time, but as the program had over-run it was coming up as recording "Desperate Housewives".

    It seemed to have recorded fine, but when I went to play it I couldnt, exactly as per the OP. Had to hit the Sky button to get out it. I tried starting from different places but no good, and it was taking up 4% of capacity, so I just had to delete it.
