Not sure if this is the right place to post this or not, just checked my credit card balance online there and found a €40 credit lodgement onto it stating "Loyal Bonus - Congrats".
Anyone had one of these before? Its a Mastercard credit card but I see no mention on their website nor does a google search show anything about it....Just curious to who paid me €40

Phone the help desk of your card provider and ask them who its from?

Nothing to do with the Credit card tax?are you sure that the card company hasn't got some deal where they pay your stamp duty on the credit card?
Because that is the exact cost of the govt tax.

If you have paid them a lot in interest they might do it since you are such a valued customer. My mate works in C/C they consider me a "bad customer", since my account is always in credit and they never get a penny from me!

Could indeed be them covering the stamp duty alright, its very strange tho' as I pay my balances online pretty much straight away after I put something on the card and never really owe them very much so I cant see how they'd be making much money off me...might just ring them and enquire about it all the same.
