Crossroads: Explanation please.... spoilers

When I saw this on Sky it seemed that there could have been a bit of ambiguity as to whether the 4 could be cylons or not. My interpretation of the ep was that, yes, they could be four of the last five (Suspected Starbuck from way off), but also, they could have been some kind of, I don't know, prophets or connection to Earth. After all, why an earth song: All Along The Watchtower.

However, from looking at the posts here and trawling through the web it seems there was scenes cut from Sky? Tigh talking to Adama and Adama reckoning it may be a signal or something? And broadcasts of Apollo 11 moon landing? (Like in the original).

Can anyone fill me on please? I don't want to have to get it from my cousin just to see the scenes cos I'll be buying in Sept anyway

When one of the four comes into the room and says something like "And a switch flips and suddenly you're a cylon?". My original thought was that they just knew they were different somehow and only when they entered the room and saw the others did they figure out they were Cylons. But that comment changed it I suppose. Missed it first time. D'oh! But, I suppose, like someone said in another thread, they could be both. Kind of guiding-light cylons for the humans. Cartainly it would be consistant with their actions so far for all 4/5.

There weren't any scenes cut from the sky version it was the same as the Sci-Fi version that aired in the US.

Scenes where cut/spliced in that episode if you listen to the podcast but I don't recall any of the items you mention still have a listen to it yourself, helps to have the episode playing at the same time of course.

There are lots of summary notes on the BSG wiki for Crossroads Part II that are worth a look. I'm not so sure Starbuck is a Cylon now or at least one of the final five she's definitely one of the spirits equal to Baltar/Six. But we do know these new Cylons are different from the other lot so I guess we will have to see how things pan out in season 4 in 08 argh

is everyone sure these four are Cylons?
I was thinking maybe they are decendants of the origninal lords of kobol
and that maybe the nebuls is emitting the song and the reason
it gets louder is that they are jumping closed to the nebula

I would hate too see Tight or Tyrol as Cyclons

especially since they are just two ordinary people on ship that was about to retire
of course maybe Ron is making it all up as he goes along

I think the fact that Tyrol is the one who first actually says they are cylons is significant. He has been afraid that he is a cylon ever since Boomer turned out to be. So I don't think they are cylons, I think they are something else but their obvious first fear was that they were cylons and the Chief just vocalised it because in a way he has always been expecting it.

Afterall why hear a song from Earth and come to their realisation at the very nebula where they were expecting to see a pointer to earth ('course then Starbuck turns up.) Well, we'll find out in....... 2008 damnit!!!! Also, Almos said in interview that S4 is the last. Posted in aintitcoolnews.......... do NOT read it. Spoiler city. According to Ronald D. Moore it isn't a song from Earth. People are being too literal.

Moore explains why an 'Earth' song is played in the 'Galactica universe' on his podcast of crossroads part2 that (and ill try to say exactly what he say on the podcast):



That there are connections between there world and our world between the story of the people on Galactica and our contempory reality
[Ronald's wife then interjects that "you've gone too far" meaning dont say too much]
and that there are connections that trans send all these things there ... it's not an accident (that they that we should recongise the song).

He said want to put a reference to the song in the 1st series too, when Sharron and Helo would find a jukebox on Caprica and the song would start to play when its turned on. He also mentions that while he was working on Roswell he was going to do a whole episode based around the song.

i think he just really likeS Along the Watchtower and who can blame him.

That would have been cool alright. But, considering the hullabaloo about watchtower can you imagine what the forums/blogverse would be like if they did THAT on the first series: "Caprica is...... ACTUALLY EARTH?!?!?!?! ZOMFG" etc etc

Hmm i haven’t seen it since it came out bit i could swear the line was "After All this time, A Switch goes off just like that"

I don’t remember the word cylon being used until the Chief said the line, "Where cylons and we have been from the start"

Actually writing about this now reminds me of when me and 2 mates who are big into it watched it when it first came out and at the end if that whole scene i realised i wasn’t breathing because i was busy concentrating and then i got freaked out

Hmm i think that Tigh and other main crew being cylons is an AMAZING idea because it keeps the show VERY fresh and very interesting.
