    Hi Folks,

I was wondering if anyone here could possibly recommend an online store that they have personallyl used themsleves and been satisfied with. It seems that alot of things are cheaper online but many stores do not do international delivery. Any recommendations welcome.

    Dave

PS: The two sites in the "Useful Links" sections seem to be down.

    Without a doubt, Barrabes - www.barrabes.com

I used to use www.needlesports.com but I'll probably go with barrabes from now on. They seem to be quite a bit cheaper.

Yeah, Barrabés all the way man. Quick enough, definately cheap enough, and GREAT customer service.

I dont know how any of you think Barrabes is cheap....anything I buy for Outdoors...generally from Ebay where it actually IS cheap...as long as you check the sellers and know your size you can save a fortune over online stores and definately overretail outlets.

The products are usually cheaper, certainly costing less than high street prices here.
Shipping is definately cheaper (in most if not all cases) compared to ebay
Barrabés will take returns of unused goods - climbing shoes/boots being a good example of where this is of huge benefit
    Customer service is exemplary.....

Price isn't the only thing when choosing to buy online. If for example I'm buying carabiners, rope, harness etc., or a GPS receiver, compass or stove for example, I want to know that the kit I'm buying hasn't come up for sale from a product recall (it happens), will have OEM support, and that I can actually phone and speak with someone if I have questions or need support from the reseller, instead of perhaps dealing with an individual who doesn't have the means to actually support me as a consumer.

I'll buy some things from ebay, but when it comes to my safety and wellbeing in the outdoors, I won't risk it just to save a few euro. It just doesn't make sense to push the savings on some things.

Barrabés are an excellent and value for money service.... Ebay is a case by case experience, when you never REALLY know what you get, until you've paid your money and it arrives.....
