I'm very disappointed with Sky coverage of golf this year.
Losing the PGA rights is a disaster .
I miss watching the golf every weekend night live from the States.
The replacement show Golf Night is very sub standard.
Just highlights from the European tour which seems to be bereft of top names.
They got rid of 'World of Golf' on Wednesdays which I liked to watch.
Sky was really caught with its pants down by Setanta when they gobbled up the US rights for 7 years.

Agreed, it's not even worth watching for the hot blonde chick they have on it... Can't believe I'm gonna miss Sawgrass :(:(:(

Yeah I know its terrible. Thats always one of the best tournaments of the year. The 3 best finishing holes in golf. Feck setanta. But at least I'll get to play them for myself later in the year when I'm in the states.

In relation to golf night, I think the analysis is decent but they seem to be looking to fill up time for the most part.

How do you mean ? Are they not carry it the way Sky used to? Is worth the money?

Interesting to note that Sky have a significant shareholding in Setanta. Could be a way to fleece the punter even more.

I believe Setanta's sports coverage across the board is muck anyway, not just the golf side of things.

Im struggling to find a link for it which suggests it probably isn't true but I read it in the business section of the Indo a while back that Sky had purchased shares in Setanta.

I know for a fact they have close to a 20% stake in ITV.

Anyway back to the golf.....Lefty is back!

well the itv deal is well know and under investigation in England, but ITV are a public company which people can buy shares in.

Setanta are privately owned, you can't 'buy shares' in them and they are in fierce competition with Sky. I really have to ask that you 'put up or shut up' as the saying goes..

Yeah thats right. No chance of sky being involved with them I would have thought.

The funniest thing about this competition between them is that setanta have stolen loads of the sky commentators/analysts.
