Recently i have been playing MTT's very badly.

Example 2 weeks ago SE sunday...Blinds 25-50 stacks 5k all round....2nd orbit i make it 150 2 go with ace q of spades in mp.....2 callers.

1st hand ive payed and feel ok at the table....flop 2 4 5 (2 spades) 1 caller be4 me leads for 450 i make it 1200 1 caller behind and orignal leader dwells and passes.

turn....caller didnt look 2 comfortable calling so i knew i could pick the pot up on the turn with a sizeable bet if i miss my flush. turn was a 6(blank)....i lead for 1800 he dwells and calls.

now feeling awful in the hand but still have outs.river J diamonds...i miss so i push(i feel here too much in the pot and i have shown enough aggression to make him pass a hand).....thinks for ages and calls with 77 im gone.

this has happened to me in a good few tourneys of late playing huge pots at 25-50 levels for no reason!

another example was in another tounrney similar situation but larger stacks same hand same moves by me except on the river i had 3.5k left from an 8k starting stack and made the river look like a value bet of 2.5k into about a 5.5k pot.simalilar hands called me in both instances...comments on both plays??

i think you played that hand ok.
That was a terrible call by 77. You were the preflop raiser and aggressor to the river so he should have been putting you on a big pair.

How were you betting. Quickly/slowly. Were you thinking long before making your bets on the flop/turn/river.

i like 2 play around with betting times. On the flop i raised pretty quick,on the turn i made it look like i was calculating the pot and sizing my bet accordingly and on the river i pushed after a quick glance at my oppenent!

No one finds it a problem playing pots for this size at this level?

I have 2 say i dont cos id say 70 per cent of the time im flipping over the winning hand here as in a big overpair or even a small set i would play similarly!

No, sometimes it just works out that the pot is big.
If this was online it was a bad call, if your stats are ok.
Live, it could be easier to make.
I find it is better to have something when you shove, it's hard to get bad people off a pair.

well in this case it was the 1st hand i played so no one had any reads on me what so ever!

And hard to get any1 to fold a pair??

in both cases the person in the early postion folded bigger pairs then the winning hand end up being.I know both villians had position on me though.
