    Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with media enclosures, am thinking about getting this and putting a 500gb hard drive into it!

    Any advice or opinions?

    Cheers

Does look pretty good. And a nice price too. I paid £85.99 + delivery for this one:

Read alot of great reviews about it on avforums.com ( http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=304639 ) before I bought it.

Got it setup and going last night and it's the bomb. At the moment it just streaming from my laptop but I've order a 500GB HD from komplett.

I'd defo buy one with the LAN cababilities. Brilliant to be able to play stuff direct from laptop.

EDIT: Saw your other post regarding price. Reckon I'll be putting the whole thing together for about €290. €150 Media Enclosure. €140 500GB IDE Seagate Baracuada HD

I bought a cheap one. Problem I have with it is that it's slow to browse through all of the videos. Not only slow, but because of the bad resolution of my TV, I can only see a few movie thumbnails at a time. It also does not all me to make movie directorys such as Anime, TV Shows, Lost etc. Instead it searches the entire harddrive for known extensions and then lists them with a thumnail preview of the first second.

I'd prefere an explorer type navigation. :(
