Due to the ineptness of my significant other, we cant go on a summer holiday this year. The only time the bf can get off work is October. I want a sun holiday where I can relax and chill on the beach, and I was wondering, is there anywhere warm enough in October, or will we have to go somewhere like Florida (though its hurricane season then)?

Any of the Canaries would be a safe enough bet. Temperatures in the mid to high twenties. We were in Tenerife last October for a fortnight and we could hardly stick the heat .You are not guaranteed sunshine in October but with "Global Warming" i dont think any month is a sure thing anymore.

Thanks for the advice. I'll look into the canaries, but I remain a bit skeptical about Europe in autumn.

the weather in thailand or malayasia would be picking up around then - would definitely be nice weather!

Egypt is also an option, I was there last November and it was 30 degrees

    Ehhh, no Ted.

October is still monsoon season in Thailand. Wouldnt overly recommend travelling then. If you could leave it til November though you'd probably be grand, whether travelling North or South.

i'll say egypt as well, considering it's not far at all, or a bit further afield, kenya or other places on the east coast, or anywhere in the carribean- spoilt for choice really

As col said, the canaries are a safe bet. In October they should have temps in the high 20s. The canaries are closer to Africa than they are to Europe. As well as Egypt there is also Tunisia and Morocco in north Africa.

    Hi Nightwish

Did you get around to your holiday last year? The Canaries stay warm all year round, rarely dropping below 22 degrees. That's why it is very popular with Irish travelers. I lived and worked in Malta and it is amazing, very beautiful. I want to go back now!! I was swimming in the sea in October/November. I would really recommend to anyone. Make sure you can go and visit. They have the euro now so you can use your money that's in your pocket (hopefully), lol. Plus bands are playing there now so you ay catch a few gigs while your there.
