Action Replay (+Freeloader) not recognised by Wii

Just picked up a copy (finally) of Resident Evil 2 for the Gamecube and i thought it could be my guinea pig for my newly re-discovered Action Replay disc and memory card.

Alas, the Wii doesn't even recognise it.

Is there some trick to using it on the Wii? Do you have to sneak up on it or swap discs or something before i can get some cheap laughs from my Gamecube games on my Wii?

If not, it's no big whoop. I can play through it (and my other GC games) seriously on the Wii and plug in the Gamecube any time i want to arm Leon/Claire to the teeth. Sparkshot ahoy!

There is a disc swapping trick you can do.

It's a bit hit and miss though and the risk of damaging the drive on your Wii from having to swap discs in and out quickly is too great for me to use it.

Freeloader have a new version out that works on the Wii though.... I'm holding out for one that will allow you to play imported Wii titles as well though.

Is it a new version of Action Replay? I think only newer ones work. Like this one.

Also, hi5 Rhyme! We need a Resi Evil forum :)

Thanks. I think i'll stick with the console swapping over disc swapping for the time being if there is an element of risk.

Can't wait for the Wii Freeloader (Wiiloader ;) ). Datel mentioned they were working on one last year, no word since. I'd be on an importing frenzy if it appeared (Trauma Centre, Paper Mario, Resident Evil:UC etc...)

EDIT: @koneko: Definitely. It seemed to garner attention when the idea came up in the MGS forum request, i'd kill (and eat) for a Resi forum.

If the game doesn't load with the disc swapping trick you can use the disk swap trick on the freeloader to load it and then just swap in your game. However beware of the fit inducing flashing lights.

Like the idea of a Resi or survival horror forum.
