My wont work? Its a Medusa 5.1 Headset!

Now the sound works great just the mic doesnt at all? Im using a 7.1 sound card that came with my Asus P5N32 - E mobo and it doesnt seem to be showing up in vista all.. I have an old logitech headset and the mic works on that...?

The connection is that little pink wire and not usb..

Sorry if thats a little vague? Anyone else having problems?

Don't have the same sound chip but if it works for one and doesn't for other than I'm not sure what to make of that.

You could try a driver update from what I can make out the board uses the ADI 1988b sound chip which comes from SoundMAX and getting drivers is tricky as they do not release reference drivers like Realtek.

Thankfully Asus appear to have release newer builds of the drivers for Vista so I would try the v6.10.2.6110 release.

Maybe something in the control panel of the card will sort it out, you could try disabling jack sensing as well.

Are the speakers in Windows set as 5.1 speakers or just regular headphones ?

Have you tried with and without the amp connected & the mic is supposed ot have volume controls for all the channels on it maybe it got altered by accident at least that's from what I can read on a review of the hardware.

Its not the amp version.. I have a usb headset and that works perfectly! I want to use the one I paid €75 for though
