Yer, it's a goodie alright. I recently bought the book from Scott Kelby on the subject, he of Photoshop killer tips fame. Well worth it.
I know you can DL the podcasts from www.Photoshopkillertips.com but I have yet to find the ones from Lightroom.

    Genius site at any rate!

Yeah I got that too and it is pretty useful indeed. I know someone who has the Martin England version so will check that out when I Scott and I are divorced!!

Do the books tell you anything that is not availible on the net?

I love Kelby's stuff and have a few of his books but I have a feeling LR will get a major upgrade soon and that the book might be out of date very quickly.

Luminous Landscapes have a very thorough 4 and a half hour tutorial for around 19 dollars which is excellent. You can also get a few really good free ones here. This is also a good resource with good links.

I would say most of it is available on the net in one form or another

Tbh, it'll nearly all be in the help, just hit F1 and off you go. What won't be there is suggested workflows and settings. How to tweak the proggy to what suits you best, etc.
