Bray Head coastal walk

Took a walk along this lovely coastal path today with the intention of finising in Greystones. Two thirds of the way along I come across a wired barricade with a notice saying the rest of the path is closed due to erosion. There was no advice on an alternate route. I knew the area so was able to find one, but a tourist might not. Secondly why was n't a notice put up near the start warning people that the path did n't continue to Greystones ( maybe I missed it but I doubt it). I'd say a lot of people who start out intend going to Greystones. Also does anyone know if there are any plans to re-open the path by bringing it inland a little ?

At one time, before they spruced it up and 're-opened' it, there was a (much vandalized) sign at the Bray end warning of dire consequences if you went past that point, but everyone (except tourists!) ignored it.

No idea what the plans are if any for any re-routing .. any work on the path seems to be done by volunteers with very little funding by Wicklow CC. It makes me cry sometimes when I see the state of both the path and Bray Head itself. It's a valuable natural resource for the area that's just being left to ruin.

Yes, even the path that is walkable could do with some maintenance. It would be well worth while as I met a lot of tourists on the route today, and I'm sure the numbers will increase as the summer progresses, causing more erosion. As usual in Ireland, the powers that be will wait 'till the last minute to do anything about it.... if at all.
