My imaginary friend as a kid was a woman who had been walled up under the stairs.

Jesus sorry for asking, didnt realise everyone on here was so "cool" as to have not had a childhood.

All Things Retro might have been a better forum.

But the majority of people probably had imaginary friends... they just don't remember them. It's worth asking your parents about... they actually play an important part in the early development of your psyche.

I wasnt taking the piss, even the idea of having an imaginary friend never occured to me, I remember seeing a documentary about them when I was a teenager (prob bbc2) and having a hard time even grasping the concept of Imaginary friends, on a "sure why would ya do that" sorta level.
Maybe I just have no imagination?? :o or what I had was used up annoying my 3 sisters:D

This is After Hours. Did you expect serious replies?

I think siblings have a lot to do with it. You don't need another person in the house when you are walled up with 5 of them already. And of course have someone to play with.

Either ignore it or strike back.

Nope, no imaginary friends for me. OP: Were you an only child?

I vaguely remember someone I knew having an imaginary friend... really creeped me out at the time just seeing this guy staring into thin air and chatting away....

I never had one myself, but I do remember a girl who would have an empty seat beside her in school for her imaginary friend.
My imaginary friend as a kid was a woman who had been walled up under the stairs.
This conjurs such a great image of a panicky father saying "No son, that's, uh, that's just your imagination".

Apparently I had one when I was very little, like maybe 2 or 3, called "Bushy in the Sky."

Does that make me special?! :D

And my brother had one around the same age called Yi Yi.

I'd have hoped they'd have taught you how to spell...

EDIT: Balls. I responded without reading the whole thread. How unoriginal of me.
