Just wondering if anyone has tried the iPod sensor? Was thinking of using one and maybe stocking them but wondering whether they are worthwhile or not. Any thoughts?

You mean the iPod Nano / Nike Plus kit? I know some runners who swear by it (for motivation they otherwise might not have). If 100% accuracy is important to you, then you should probably look elsewhere (Garmin Forerunner?). Also, you'll probably want to use the kit with your own running shoes, rather than buying a pair of Nike Plus shoes, so have a look at this list of alternative mechanisms to attach the pod to your existing shoes.
